1. Any ice hockey fans out there?
It is always football football, but hockey is more attractive sport. But I understand - here are many people from Holland, Spain, Ireland, Australia, who almost don't know what hockey is

And this year's World Championship is so interesting. Ex-outsiders are beating favorites, Americans almost dropped down to B-division ...

Good job from Switzerland, Denmark, Germany to go to play offs
  2. i have been thinkin about this too. I guess there are no hockey fans outside the Czech republic here.
but yea u are right. This has been a great chapionship so far. It would be awesome if one of the weak teams actualy took the 1st place.
yea soccer sucks compared to ice hockey

I think Denmark or Switzerland could have a medal, but I don't think they could win. But everything is possible on this World Cup
And yesterday's match with Canada was great with classic ending - Canadians can't accept lost and their reactions are provocations and fights - especially in matches with our team...
I hope we will finally go through quaterfinals and then - who knows?
  4. Ever since we've got socialists in the government, even hockey isn't what it used to be
  5. My father played in an almost proffessional team some years asgo, I myself am a fan of hockey too. More of the ice skiing than the spor titself but anyway, it's always nice. I don't like watching it on the TV though, and hate the american NHL, makes me sick
  6. ice-hockey isn't really popular here in Germany, or better said not anymore. It used to be in the 90s, we had some of the best teams in Europe here. But now? the best traditional teams split up because of financial reasons. the WC is taking place here, and only 1 tv channel shows the games, a small channel that not even everyone can receive I haven't seen one game yet, even though I would love to.

Well our team lost 1-2 to you guys and you were quite good (or we were rather shitty, that is), that's what I can tell you.
  8. So far in the NHL the Chicago Blackhawks and Philly Flyers are winning 2-0. Let's go Hawks!

But this year your team play better and after many years is in quaterfinals... and could go on - Switzerland could play only against stronger teams
  10. I'm not fan of any NHL team... and of the whole NHL... but Montreal is not bad this year (they are loosing 2:0, but everything is possible)

  11. Yea Hawks better get the Stanley cup this year. Im pretty pissed Rangers didnt make it to play off. Im sure they would kick everybodys ass.
Even thou national hockey league is supposed to be the best in the world I find most of the games rather boring... I enjoy the world cups or olympics much more cuz of the wider rink.

  12. I HEARD THAT! WOO WOO!

edit: to clarify, this is as in "you can say that again!", not as in, "oh yeah, i heard someone talking about that the other day..."

Hockey has been my life for the past few weeks with the Blackhawks majorly pwning the rest of the division. Very exciting, sometimes very close, games- been a great playoff season.
