1. i love Discoteque from Vertigo tour. It would be great if they rotate with the Crazy remix during the 360 tour

  2. I'm pretty sure that is old news that is being re-hashed and a lot of it is just assumption. All the statements are the same ones we heard from the band back in April/May 2014. Nothing "new".

Could turn out to be true, but I do not think there has been a recent official statement from the band as I have not seen it anywhere else.

If other sources start reporting it then we know.
  3. it's only rumours either way - no single in September will probably mean no album in 2014... we'll soon find out - not really holding my breath. Hopefully the final result will be worth the wait!

The reported quote was old anyway.
  4. If the tour doesn't start until May of next year, I wouldn't be surprised if the album didn't come out until the beginning of next year. Why would there be such a huge gap between the release and the tour? Sure there's the promo tour and singles and videos etc., but still. Best way to promote an album is to tour, and that gap would be substantial.

That being said, I really hope the recent rumors of October 27th or whatever are true. Either way, can't wait to hear what they've been working on for the past few years...
  5. Yep, you're right. But, then, they'd be missing on the Christmas sales... oh well, we'll see.
  6. As I've said before, releasing the album more than 2 months before the tour could be horrible. Since they feel NLOTH is a major failure, a lack of sales for the next album...I'll call it "Delayed Release," could lead them to believe their new songs are not relevant enough, and they could abandon playing much of the new album, and only play the single and one or two other songs, so we might get another Greatest Hits show.

What I'd love to see is two shows in each city one show where both Achtung and Joshua Tree are both played in full, and another show featuring the new album and various hits...but that's a pipe dream...it would never happen.

Either way, it's going to be six YEARS between album releases, and we have to figure that any more than 3 albums from these guys mean they are opening up their vaults and giving us demos and outtakes they gave up on. I'd think that is actually overdue at this point...

I think most Pop fans like me would have loved to already have had the version of Pop that they scrapped. It makes no sense that all these artists wait until they are graybeards and their fanbase is also getting older to empty their vaults both live and studio...and there will be less and less people to buy deluxe versions...just release it now. In 2020 there won't be a ton of U2 fans left who will care to spend too much on old material or even new material...just get it all out now while the failing music business still has a little steam.
  7. I gotta imagine that this is their last release if it ever comes.
  8. What an undignified to and fro!
  9. Yeh, I'll still only believe that when I hear an official announcement. I definitely think this will be U2's last album. All the signs point to it being so.

The one thing thats pissing me off through all this is that the band and/or their management aren't even trying to keep the fans interested. Even little things like a live ep or single, or a limited release of a single on vinyl, or releasing a few b sides or SOMETHING. ANYTHING! its all good and proper to have rumours etc, but geez its frustrating that its like they've fallen off the face of the earth with absolutely no attempt to keep fans interested in their music. I for one haven't listened to any U2 in probably 18 months and that saddens me somewhat. Even any of the releases I just mentioned may be a trigger for me to delve into their back catalogue.

    Anyways thats my rant.
  10. I feel the same Pain.
