1. Lol both versions of that song suck. It feels like such a cut and paste job of a song. The riff is good, the chorus is anthemic, the solo is good, but put them all together? Nope. I think the fact that they remixed it for the live performances goes to show that they had no belief in the album version of the song. Shame no one told them the remix version was just as bad, if not worse.

I remember the first time I heard Bono dive right into that first falsetto on the album version I physically cringed. YIKES.

Just another song that was likely written towards the end of that album cycle, that has no business taking the place of a song that was probably kicked off to make room for it - like Winter. Winter has nowhere near as much "single potential" as Crazy Tonight does, but it's 100X the better song.
  2. I'll Go Crazy seemed like a lot of fun live?
  3. It was a song that served its purpose in that part of the set well, but I wouldn't really say that made it a great song. Imagine if they had dug out that Lemon remix from the Popmart tour and tried to perform that instead - or something like it.

It was a lot better than Boots and Unknown Caller on the 360 tour and is one of the better songs on No line.
  5. Agree
    Agree
    Wrong
  6. I thought the album version of ill go crazy was better than boots but the live version worse, not that Boots was even in the decent category. Unknown caller is a better song by a mile and even though it was better on the album than live it was still better than any version of I’ll go crazy or boots for that matter.

For me, Unknown Caller is a great song that's kind of ruined by that weird chorus and the lyrics in that weird chorus. I...kind of get what they were going for? But it just didn't land, for me.

It definitely had the potential to be something better I agree there. It’s hard to really be inspired by the lyrics but I like enough about the music to make up for it and the lyrics in the verses seem to work well in the song. Boots has nothing for me but where I prefer it to the I’ll go crazy live remix is it at least sounds like a band playing and not just some poor attempt at a dance tune.
  9. But that version of SBS was not really good...
And yes there was live music played over the remix and especially in the final fast part when Larry returns to his drumkit... Love that part

Agree with Unknown Caller - it's a pretty good song and agree that it is by a mile better than Boots (any version) and studio Crazy...

No SBS has been really good since 2001 so yeah, I'll give you that.
  12. SBS on JT 2017 has been really good and strong, I think.
