2017-06-28 - East Rutherford
Tour: Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Songs played: 23
Audio recordings: 1
  1. agreed. i don't hear it as a piano song. it should be guitar like on the record.
  2. Vocals are very good on RHMT, but I also prefer the guitar on the album version. Or at least a real hornsection, which can also be used for Angel of harlem, Love rescue me and WLCTT
  3. It is great hearing RHMT live after all these years but absolutely agree it needs to be punched up with some guitar. I think too the current version might attribute to some folks feeling like the 2nd side of JT live kinda drags

RHMT was definitely a little disappointing only due to the arrangement and complete lack of guitar. Plus they kind of look bored playing it. Bono sounded great though.

Am I the only one who hates that new arrangement on the bridge of BD?

RHMT (IMO at least) , sounded dreadful in Miami . Those horns , my Lord , too loud and to my untrained ear sounded terribly out of tune to boot.... accompanied by that annoying video...

I agree with you Nick , this tour just seems off...as if they did this to satisfy and or complete some agreement made with say..Live Nation ? For me this tour got old , real quick..I hope they change to up for Europe , as Bruce did last year mixing the set all up for the River Tour in Europe..but then again Bruce live is.....well I wont start that fight again lol....

All I know for sure is , this was my least favorite tour , (below PoP) and I (as you) literally blew off my Tampa show ( which was the exact same show as Miami) , and thats saying something .
  6. I was 100% sure they'd play ASOH night 2 and I still didn't go. In all fairness though, if it was at MSG and I didn't have to deal with the madness of getting out of metlife, I wouldnt of even considered not going.

I've watched/heard just about every performance of RHMT and enjoyed them all, will be glad to see it in person next week. However I agree about the bridge part of BD, I don't mind the general reworking but think Bono should just go straight into the bridge lyrics with the electronic sounding vocals getting played at the same time. Would still achieve the sort of vibe they're looking for without Bono mumbling sentences before singing the proper lyrics.
  8. One thing I forgot to mention was just how stunning RTSS was. I did see it during vertigo but I forgot just how great it is live. Definitely underrated and the crowd sang every word.

Oh boooy! DO I KNOW THAT NOW!

That looooooong line at 1 in the morning was really something else. I was commenting to my friend while there that at the Garden, at least you had the trian station beneath and you could just head downstairs and go. At Medowlands? A long line to a bus...ironically superseded by a less than 30 minute bus ride back to NYC.

I'm telling you it was a traumatizing experience. For me to ditch night2 says a lot
