7:30 for lumineers. They play for about an hour. U2 on between 9:10 and 9:20.
  4. Thanks have to the train out to Metlife with a transfer at Secacus....appreciate the intel!!!!!
  5. Enjoy all attending tomorrow night and the next - I'd love to see U2 in New York some day (and have them play New York again finally, too. )
  6. After 37 years and more of u2 , i'm for the first time really disappointed.
4 songs at the beginning, always the same ( ok fantastic songs but....) and the whole album JT like in a karaoke , final songs (encores too) without fantasy , no changes except rare turn over.
    I had 4 tickets for Rome 1 and 2 , all sold .
They don't move on stage, they are not like the last tours of almost 20 years, they are sometimes boring and too commercials. Being fan means to be sometimes critic. I can't aprreciate everything they make. I think that most of you, young fans of last 20 years or less don't understand what they really are , now they are older and they try to find more success in the easiest way. I wait for the new album and the next new tour of SOE hoping it will be like in 2015 with SOI. They created a lot, they made a wonderful tour. I post the link of a good critic opinion of a great canadian media. And i'm agree , they are good but not u2, no energy, no fantasy, 6 of 10 is the right way to judge. I'm sorry but IMHO. Still fan of u2, but for Joshua Tree tour i understand the fantastic night with Big Audio Dynamite and Pretenders openers in Rome stadio Flaminio 1987. Here is the link of Exclaim Canada , not bad at all.

I think that's a crazy decision to sell your tickets based only on what you've seen and heard from others and online. We're all entitled to an opinion but your throwing away the chance to see probably 5 or 6 songs at least for the last time. Also if you even just attended one night then playing the same songs wouldn't be an issue as you'd only be hearing them all once. Despite the big screen I'd say they've stripped back a lot this tour in comparison to previous stage designs including I&E which really took over the arena environment. So this show relys on quality of song and whilst the setlist isn't everyone's cup of tea ( I sense the encore is the biggest complaint still) it's hard to deny the quality in comparison to the setlists in previous tours unless of course you see SOI or NLOTH as better albums than TJT.
  8. There was a GA ticket drop for one the the NJ shows a minute ago
  9. not at all it's a reason of the heart

I agree with you that I am looking forward to SOE and the new Experience & Innocence tour more than this tour. And I agree that being a fan means you have the license to be critical at times.

But the review article you posted contradicts your own argument, for the most part. True, the reviewer seemed to think that U2 today isn't the same as they were back in the 80s (obviously). But while you're arguing that U2 is taking the "easy" way by doing this tour, the reviewer noted that "side 2" of the JT was a momentum killer before the encore showed that the crowd just wanted the "hits". So, is it fair to respond to your argument by saying that U2 could have gone a MUCH easier route by just turning into a "greatest hits" band, instead of playing - for the first time! - this entire album in full every night?

Also: as one who has been to a show already, your complaint about lack of energy might change if you actually attend a show live. They still conveyed a ton of energy and the crowd loved it. It's just that they are deliberately trying to evoke the original 1987 tour's minimalist stage set-up, although with a modern, more technologically-advanced spin on it! I for one loved how they started on the "tree stage" for the opening four songs, retreated to the main stage for the JT album as on the original tour, and then had a mix with Bono coming back into the audience for the encore.

Anyway...just another man's opinion. again, I am for sure more looking forward to NEW music and a revamped version of I&E hopefully next year!
  11. Sure, go ahead, but I agree with everyone else here, it's so different when you attend a show vs living it from far away.

If only for the performance of Exit this show is worth attending. The energy, performance, visuals, choreographics and rage in this song is unlike many of the things we have seen U2 do on stage before.
