Happens more often than you'd expect in soundchecks/rehearsals. They'll use track for missing band members.

Then of course 2015 with drummer Keith subbing in, but that was a bit different.

(That Anaheim soundcheck is my recording! I should give it another listen)

I didn't know it was yours. Do you still have that minidisc?

I like how they adjust on-the-fly Bono's pre-recorded vocals to fit with the slightly different song structure they were doing in the Vertigo Tour, and of course it's always fun to hear when Bono appears and duets with himself... albeit a bit sad, since Bono's 2005 vocals are nowhere near his 1993 greatness.

I do! Although I was using Nomad JB3 as my primary recorders at that time. But did have minidisc for a few secondary pulls.

Ha that's cool that it is your recording. Did you immediately get that it was a taped vocal?
  5. It was hard to miss!
  6. I snuck into a sound check in Phoenix in 2015, and Bono was late getting inside as he was out back signing autographs. The band ran through, raised by wolves and Cedarwood Road with his recorded vocals, and then once he got there, they ran through Joey Ramone, End of the world and the troubles live, among others
  7. I have that Phoenix 2015 soundcheck too! Just didn't mix it. They did a cool impromptu jam if I recall that sounded like the skeleton of a new song.
  8. The ‘Boo yaaaassss’ have not aged well. Nor were they great at the time.
  9. really used to like the 2 vertigos - though can understand that they could have played another song

    liked yahweh

bullet was terrible on this tour - and that blindfold thing was dull

streets was also poor - didn't they lose the bright lights in the intro too?

    aboy was not needed

    miracle drug was also dull

    as was sometimes

but yeh, overall, i enjoyed the concerts i went to
