1. OK, so looking at 7 guests for 26/11-29/11, which seem to be the days when at least 7 people can join, these are some options:

    26/11 - 29/11 (7 guests)

    https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7955019?checkin=11%2F26%2F2015&checkout=11%2F29%2F2015&guests=7&s=dzvg
    EUR 774 / 7 / 3 = EUR 36 per night
    Walking distance from 3Arena. Wi-fi.
    Extra people no charge
    4 beds though

    https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8383204?checkin=11%2F26%2F2015&checkout=11%2F29%2F2015&guests=7&s=dzvg
    EUR 608 / 7 / 3 = EUR 28 per night
No wi-fi, also pretty close to 3Arena
    Extra people no charge
    5 beds

    https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/57420?checkin=11%2F26%2F2015&checkout=11%2F29%2F2015&guests=7&s=dzvg
    EUR 726 / 7 / 3 = EUR 34 per night
    Walking distance from everything
    Bunks! So no two-person beds
    Quite good reviews
    5 beds
Accomodates more than 16 people, extra people 25 euro per night (if more than 3 extra people)

Personally, I don't really like to sleep in a bedroom with more than 1 or 2 other people, but hey, I can always choose something else myself either way

Who is in for the last option? (or for any other for that matter)

Note that it cannot be me who makes all arrangements, I need help also for other groups to find something. We cannot just book one house and that's it for everyone
  2. I am! 27 & 28

The bad thing about airbnb is that payment needs to be done in advance (money gets withheld [is that the word?] in your bank account) and in case of cancellation, the airbnb fees are non-refundable, so that would mean around >50 € lost if something goes wrong. Not nice. So this has to be very serious.

Exactly, you pay right away and usually everything is non refundable.
  4. this sounds like fun!
now all I need is a ticket for the 28th... minor detail.....
  5. Nah, there's usually refundable bookings

For example, from these 3 you've posted, the first one (Great house near Croke) refunds everything except airbnb fees if you cancel 5 days prior to arrival, the second one (Rathgar Villas) refunds everything except fees if you cancel 1 day prior to arrival, and only the third one (6b in the heart of Dub) is a bit more strict: it refunds only the 50% of the total booking if you cancel 1 week prior to arrival.
  6. Hi Remy, I would like to reconfirm I am definately still interested in joining the airbnb thing. Please count me in for myself and my friend for 26-27 & 27-28. When do you want to do any bookings?
  7. just random, but...found a lovely place for my own stay using airbnb for the very first time...... but the verification process there is beyond nasty they want all my infos, ID card scan, phone, now even a video of me wtf

Really? For me it was enough to upload a copy of my identification. Note that this is just for Airbnb itself, should be fine
  9. As there was little activity in this topic until today, I already booked a place for me and a friend from the 26th to the 29th. Sorry about this!

There is still lots available on Airbnb, even in the proximity of the 3Arena for very good prices, lots cheaper than non-Airbnb.

I would welcome anyone taking over the organisation for a "U2start airbnb" and invite members here to take part. I could help in sending out a PM to everyone for instance.
