The closest they’ve ever come is Moncton which is 3-hours by car. So Vegas is no different in that respect for me.

It means I’ve been going through absurd lengths to see all of the shows I have (U2 and other artists.) I can’t imagine at this point having not done it. These trips are worth it to me, and it’s also an opportunity to catch up with those friends I usually only see around tour-time. Thankful for the ability to do it. Would have loved to have seen Zoo TV or The Joshua Tree tour in 87 but at the time it was out of reach.
True, but at least you're in the right continent to see plenty of U2 shows

North America got 5 different tour legs in 4 years, from the 2015-2018 period.

Pity Mike & I, & all those Down Under. South America & (particularly) Asia even more so. In Oz, sometimes we have to wait 10 years between U2 visits to our shores. We haven't seen an arena show here since Lovetown in '89. 34 years!

The Sphere will be the first 'tour' I miss, since my very first show (Zoo TV). I was lucky enough to be overseas for work in Europe for Elevation, IE & EI, & in the US for 360 ('09 & '11). Probably wouldn't be seeing those tours otherwise.

Old mate thinking he's gone to absurd lengths
  3. I live in Florida, so I admit have had plenty of options to see U2 stateside. I did however, choose to go to Paris in 2018, and then Melbourne, AU 2019. I would say prior to that did not have time/money to do so, and am grateful I did for those two dates, as well as the recent Sphere date in Vegas 10/11.
  4. I realise I am in a very rare and privileged position of being able to indulge myself flying around the world to see U2 but I've long held the view that life is about experiences, not possessions. When I'm old and sitting in a retirement home I want to be remembering that crazy time I went to Las Vegas for 3 nights to see an incredible display of technology and sound, not that I owned a big house or a luxury car or wore expensive watches. [None of which I do]
  5. In the past 24 hours I have unintentionally stumbled across references to two non-AB songs that I didn't want to or need to see. I'm going to persist with trying to be as surprised as possible for this tour/residency but next time I think I'll give in. Despite my best efforts it's been really difficult to avoid spoilers and I also feel like I've excluded myself from so much of the discussion and excitement.
  6. Keep strong SMike. It is worth it to stay spoiler free.

It all depends when your show is. You have quite a late show which does mean that you miss out on all the chat, and by the time you have seen the show people have already given their thoughts and have moved on. I felt the same way, Mike.
  8. I have managed to avoid spoilers so far. Only 20 days left now, and I am still clueless. At some point I am going to want to know more details about GA specifically, but that's all I want to know ahead of time.... where on the floor I'm going once I get inside on Dec 15.

I'm so with you on this @sydney-mike. On a cold (& wet, funnily enough) December day, curiosity once got the better of me to try & calculate the miles driven / flown & even sailed to see U2 over the years...I think I got in spitting distance of the Moon.
I, too, don't own the big house / fancy car &, for many, spending my earned money on seeing a band a ridicuous number of times is beyond any degree of sense. I've had a galactic level of fun, tho'! I always say to people..."so you like a cup of tea? Did you stop after the first cuppa or do you keep brewing up?!"...
I too went to Vegas spolier-free in October. It's the best way. You will have the most incredible time!!

GA has plenty of room, I arrived @7.15pm, entry was easy and hassle free (3rd November show), I stood @ 10 yards from stage at the back of GA central to the stage, perfect view , lots of space , so if your not bothered about being right up front don’t worry about arrival time, I could easily have got within 5 yards of the stage had I wanted to, I stayed spoiler free, it’s an amazing show, enjoy 👍

Thanks. This is helpful. I'm flying in the day of the show and won't be able to spend much time in line. I would even consider swapping my GA ticket for a seat that night so I can arrive later, but if you rolled at 7:15pm and still got a spot in the middle of the floor I should be fine. I'm not interested in being on the rail. Ideally, I would like to be dead center at the back of the floor.
