I don't expect your body to be working properly at 50 if you don't clean up your act. You probably smoke as well. Don't pretend there isn't a problem with that, I know you've seen anti under age drinking and smoking advertisements at school and on TV.

Funny thing is, all through high school I hated the kids who were already drinking- couldn't stand them. Then over the summer I realized every single kid that was doing it that I knew, was doing it solely to get drunk. They just drank until they were wasted and called it "partying". My best friend is 21 and taught me appreciate certain drinks, and we drink responsibly pretty much every time we're together.

But oh, Bob, how you make me smile

Just because the whole school are under age drinkers, that doesn't mean it's a good thing.

It sounds like you're approving under age drinking. As an adult (unless they have that 21 + rule in Chicago) you should be giving a responsible message to the kids. Unless you mean that I make you smile because you agree with what I'm saying.

  5. It looks like you're starting to have a problem. Can you remember that you can have fun without drinking?

Making those kinds of assumptions about people who you don't even VAGUELY know is exactly what would make a person dislike a person like yourself.

And there would be a problem with it if he were abusing the alcohol- that's why the laws are in place the way they are, so that people that are younger and "more immature" don't use it the wrong way. Your body doesn't undergo a magical change between 18 and 21 that somehow allows alcohol to "treat you properly". You're just more inept to be a dumbass about it if you're younger.

Personally, I'm in favor of lowering the drinking age. Because the kids who abuse it will still abuse it, and they'll still get in just as much trouble either with authority or with their bodies, and they're of no importance to me. It actually reduces the danger of the situation that kids put themselves in to GET alcohol, though. And I'm not using it irresponsibly to the point where it will hurt me, so no, I'm not pretending I don't see a problem with it...I legitimately don't see a problem with it.

If your country declares you old enough to fight and die for it, old enough to make the decision in war to kill another human being, you should be able to enjoy an alcoholic beverage. When our parents were growing up, in many places the drinking age was 18, and I'm not going to make an idiotic assumption based on people I don't know and say your parents turned out to be unhealthy, unintelligent hacks because they had a drink before they were 21.

In real life, I usually ignore it if I see a kid drinking or smoking. But for an under age person to tell strangers on the internet that they drink and go to pub isn't the smartest thing to do, to say the least. Even worse is when under age people post drunk photos of themselves and/or others on Facebook.

There isn't a "magical change" between 18 and 21 that somehow allows alcohol to treat you properly. It's legal to drink at 18 in Australia. The "magical change" is a between around 13 and 18. But it never treats anyone properly, you can just handle more.
