1. After seeing u2retrobuff open up 800+ topics about rare stuff, I'm curious to know: what is the rarest official U2 release--single, DJ promo, deluxe edition, etc.--that exists--i.e. most difficult to find?

Clearly there's U23, and I know there's the JT pizza box. I think there's one mix of Numb that supposed to be nearly impossible to get, but I can't remember which one it is.

    Just curious to know.
  2. According to Record Collector the rarest of all U2 items is an Australian green 12 inch Vinyl of All I Want Is You. There are rumored to be only 5 of these vinyls in existence pressed for certain record company executives. Apparently worth over $10,000 US Dollars
  3. Top 5 of the rarest official items:

All I want is you (Australian 12'' light green vinyl, mispressing, Island/Festival X14678, 3 copies; 1989)

    Pride ( Australian 12'' clear vinyl, Island/Festival X14105, 5 copies; 1984)

Under a blood red sky (Australian LP green and black vinyl, mispressing, Island/Festival L20033; 1984)

Boy ( Swedish LP blue vinyl, Island ILPS 9646; 1981)
  4. Holy shit. So I'm guessing these vinyls are tucked away by their owners and will never be in any sort of circulation or trade.

Wow. Poor sucker. That reminds me to be a bit more careful on Ebay now.

Thanks for all the info. Interesting stuff to know.

those listed are unlikely to ever surface anyway so no worries. The only common fakes on ebay are the Fruitlegs. Bootleggers package them up nicely and stupid people pay too much for them

they are not always packages so nicely. a friend of mine got order two of them... the cover art was on regular printer paper.... the CD's were Maxell's silver cds... basicall paid about 12.00 each for something she could have burned for 12 cents each
