1. What really makes me sad about that Billboard article is the constant Bono talking about being relevant. If they're taking this long to finish their new album just because they don't think it will be "relevant", they're taking the wrong decision in my opinion.
  2. Bono talking about campaining for Spain's economic recovery:

"(...) but beyond that, where's the family's response? Where is our Europe-white campaign to spotlight Spain, to encourage others to spend their holidays there, to buy Spanish goods, listen to Spanish music, have U2 make a flamenco album? Well, maybe not - but you know what I'm talking about"

U2 flamenco album - sounds great to me
  3. Half of Holland is already spending their holidays there That said Madrid is still on my list. But from all things I think Spain is not lacking any tourists.
  4. Obviously the TV show and Oscars performances made them realize something.
That they need a production better suited for live performances?
That they need a hit so big it will give them that Oscar they long for?
That their songs weren't as strong as they thought they were?
Hopefully they'll find what they're looking for, but we still haven't...

  5. THIS. This could be like Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series and be better than anything released on the albums

I think that's the case. Ordinary Love and Invisible may have been test cases, to check the public opinion. And maybe something made them change their mind. I guess they're very uncertain.

  7. LOL, so true. Loads and loads. Hopefully not the 20th remix for EBTTRT and Magnificent

I mean plenty of great rock and pop artists. Duran Duran, Meat Loaf, Slash, Sebastian Bach, Robert Plant, Alice Cooper, U2 - and loads of independent bands - it's the best year for music since 2011.

Don't think any band besides NIN put out anything I went to listen to.

Not a fan of any of those so that doesn't help the 2015 announcement suck any less. haha
  9. There hasn't been any announcement. Just an article in Billboard. an unnamed 'source close to the band' is quoted and other bits of speculation.

I think you might be right there.
I hope not winning the Oscars doesn't make them think that if Ordinary Love is on par with the rest of the album and it is no good,
when Ordinary Love is a lovely song, can't say the same for Invisible though? But needless to say I think your theory is correct but God I hope they dont change all the other songs that are like on par with Ordinary Love . But really this is just jumping to conclusions without facts.
I really welcome any U2 album atm even Invisible is growing on me and I first hated the song hehe
  11. This is new to me:

    http://www.thestar.ie/star/bono-twist-of-fate-saved-me-from-1974-dublin-bombings-42773/

"In the early 70s by just a twist of fate I missed a car bombing in Dublin and 23 people died,” Bono said.

This are the bombings he talks about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_and_Monaghan_bombings

I wonder how much truth there is to it, and why didn't we know before (assuming we didn't)? It seems like the typical story that Bono would have told a thousand times during the years if it was true.

I think I've heard it before actually.
