1 is Another Time, Another Place, and 2 is Two Hearts Beat as One.
And at this point the risk of being disappointed is double: songs are not played at all,
or songs are played, but not when I'm attending...
Anyway, these are my genuine wishes and I'll be lying to myself if I said "I don't care
    what they play."
But, having that said, I am still very excited about so many new songs and, too, about
Streets and I Will Follow having a solid position in the set

BTW, are we still talking about Montreal?
streets solid position, second to last? the only other worse position is last. who goes to a U2 concert to be able to experience STREETS then to have a camp fire sing along of still haven't found and then watch the band wave good bye. just a waste. the emotion and energy of streets gets wasted every night

in here? Why? I agree with you to some extent, and you've already said it... But why restate it over and over and over and over again in here? Why not just twit it everyday to Guy Oseary or to U2 twitter account? We can't do anything about it but agree or argue with you, but it doesn't seem to be what you want, right?
I hit this already, see previous post

"Solid" more as in being in every set. And yes, I love STREETS very much and I haven't
become tired of hearing it... yet.
First, second, second to last - I think it's still brilliant, because it is a brilliant song.
But, yes, I have to admit that second to last is not ideal. Although paired with One it is not so bad...
And, no, I don't think the energy of Streets is wasted.
  4. right on, check out LA 1, should be video, the song is HUGE that night
  5. I don't know I have to say that while the first night streets seemed sort of odd as far as placement, when I knew it was coming the second night it almost made it even more epic. Hell, I'd actually be interested in seeing it close a show with like a super long outro like the album version. It'd be weird, but interesting.
  6. Were you wondering where it was on the first night? Or did you know it was being played in the encore?
  7. No man I went in spoiler free, had no idea when it would be played. There was actually a moment when they came back with COBL when I had thought they weren't playing it at all.

It strikes me as odd as being that late, but like I said, once I knew it was there it was a buildup to it. To me it's almost like the later in the set, the bigger the payoff and the more epic the song status is. Even on previous tours it's somewhat been like that. WOWY is always second last usually, and while we here might not consider it the most epic U2 song, it definitely weilded the biggest cheers both nights in Montreal.

i too would love to see it moved around, yes even if it showed up in the last spot. to go to a U2 show, in Montreal of course, and know you are getting streets but to have no idea when it is coming...oh man if that was the only setlist change the entire tour it would be worth it. just thinking about it and WOW, that song just popping up anywhere at any time...man i should be in charge of stuff
  9. If we want to talk about closers, it seems like they can do it two ways. First, you have songs like 40 and I Still Haven't Found, both of which end with the crowd singing lines long after the band has walked off and left the stage. 40 obviously sets itself up for the band to leave one by one, but the surprise is that I Still Haven't Found does this quiet effectively as well. Relating to my LA 3 experience, ending with I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and the lights on and the band leaving one at a time felt right.

On the other hand, One is a song that ends with a floating chord, leading the crowd into cheering, etc. The band usually gets together for a final bow and leaves the stage together. MOS had the same feel and Streets would probably do the same. Having been to a show that ended with I Still Haven't Found and a show ending with One, I have to say that both left very different feelings as I was leaving the venue. This isn't to say that one is better than the other, but that they are both incredibly distinct feelings.
  10. Interesting report from U2.com;

On the 'e'stage, and out of the blue, a surprise debut for 'Lucifer's Hands', one of the Songs of Innocence tracks released only on the Deluxe album, the one with a second disc. The 12th new song to feature in the #U2ie set list to date and can it be long until we hear 'The Crystal Ballroom' ? Funny you should ask, someone was holding up a sign making just that request. 'We'll get to it...' came the singer's response. Another surprise, for another night.

Also starting to demand it's own slot in the show is that transcendent epic from No Line On The Horizon.
    'At the moment of surrender
    I folded to my knees
I did not notice the passers-by
And they did not notice me...'
Moment of Surrender popped up twice tonight, at the close of Beautiful Day and then during Bad. How long until it's played in full?
  11. Since when has The Crystal Ballroom turned into the new Acrobat?
