It would indeed make a great fan club renewal gift but if they decide to do that we’ll have to wait until at least 2025 to get it.

    Damn lyric books.

You have to convince someone at the streaming services to buy it. Just because it's made, doesn't mean these services want it. As U2 learned with the 2018 tour film...debuting in theatres is a route that other bands (Depeche Mode, The Cure) have successfully used to raise interest in their projects.

What happened to the 2018 concert tour movie? Was the final outcome unsuccessful?
  4. They did streaming with that Dublin/Letterman documentary. I dobut a fully fledged tour movie would have less interest in the U2 fandom.
  5. It was offered to streaming services but none of them wanted it. Most likely because it was too expensive. Hence a "short" version was aired on multiple channels as this most likely was cheaper.

Has a short version been released? Can I find it somewhere? I tried to look it up, but it seems impossible to find it.
  7. It's not released. It was aired on some channels

What did Depeche Mode and The Cure debut in theaters and what years?
  9. The Cure did their brilliant Reflections shows on Broadway... but that didn't need "raising awareness". They bloody played their first three albums in total, in sequence. Streaming services wouldn't touch it because they played for 3 hours and The Cure wouldn't offer it to streaming services because money isn't the essential, singular goal, the way it is for U2.
  10. The Cure: Anniversary 1978-2018 Live in Hyde Park (screened in theatres on July 11, 2019)

Depeche Mode: Spirits in the Forest (released in theatres November 21, 2019)

And yet the money grabbing U2 did not offer a movie celebrating the 30 anniversary of their biggest album ...
