I've been a fan since the Joshua Tree album. I finally managed to see them live for the first time during the 360 tour in the Dallas Cowboys stadium. It was especially cool to be able to take my sons to their very first live concert event--not bad starting out with U2, huh? I'm hoping they come back to Memphis on their next tour--it was 1997 when they last played here (and I missed it!).
"At the very end of an album you’re at the height of your powers in terms of writing, arranging and performing. It’s a shame that you have to stop then and start the other phase of what we do, which is playing live. This time we haven’t really stopped. Bono is trying to capitalize on that momentum and that sharpness.”
