If you want to be front row in front of the main stage you need to queue VERY early morning or the day before.

If you want to be front row anywhere, of which there are about 250 places along the stage, you need to be early, which means in the morning.

If you don't care about this you might as well queue at 5 or even 6, which will still guarantee you a spot anywhere second row. (I did that in NY)

Note that from the first rows you are not able to see anything of the screen.
  2. Thanks, Remy! I'll take it easy on day 1 and then see for day 2 if I feel like going there early...
  3. Julien, until now I totally missed the fact you are coming to Amsterdam, too -- can we see each other there in person? That would be so great

is that day before craze actually coming over to europe? ugh
  5. I think that's everywhere. There's always people queuing overnight.
  6. Yes, just turn up, put your name down in the list, and go back to your hotel. Then you can turn up late on the day and cut the line

^^ yeah, true. Remember AMS2 in 2009, Jana? we got there early, I got my number in the GA line, and then we went for our morning Coke and afterwards I took you to the station and all.... returned much later -- and totally ended up front line tactic, I say
  8. Guess we can start the line ourselves then straight after the 11 Sept. meet-up.

    In my opinion, that's cheating.
  10. That's how it worked in the US too. You just had to make sure you'd be there at the set times. Eg midnight, 6am, 12pm etc.

If you miss one, you're out of the queue. But still with this you can sleep at your own hotel and have breakfast, lunch etc. wherever you want.
  11. I don't mind people getting breakfast or going to the toilets, so perhaps being absent for an hour or two, but putting your name on the list in the morning and coming back in the evening is not done.

Name calling every two hours is fair in my opinion.
