1. I ignore/skip virtually all the hits (Vertigo, BD, Elevation, Still Haven't Found, Pride, Angel Of Harlem) but they're lovely to sing along while at the show.
  2. On SOI I always skip SFS. Can't stand it.
  3. Until The End Of The World
  4. The only song I've skipped is Grace. I think that almost all the live versions are so much better than the album versions.
  5. I used to skip SFS, too, but lately I've been listening to it again, if only to get to the ending: I love the "I'm a long way from your hill of Calvary..." part.

Hopefully this song is one we add to our lists of average studio versions but great live songs, especially if the band are thinking about it as a WOWY-style encore number.
  6. All right, so I'm just going to say it: I usually skip Zoo Station, UTEOTW, So Cruel and TTYAAW. Yeah, I know, live songs are fantastic, etc. We're talking about album songs. Like Pato, I skip the albums, since we have amazing bootlegs . I don't skip a song from SOI.

  7. Not when I sit down to listen to an album. If I put on an album, I'm almost always going to listen to every song, even the ones I think are average/weaker (and even among these that I skip, I still think most of them are really quite good). This are more the songs that I almost never go and play the studio versions when I'm just flicking around through different songs, but will often do a live version (11 O'Clock and October songs are the best examples of that for me, and Bullet)

That's basically my thought when I'm listening to an U2 album version of some song here. I only listen to live versions of their biggest hits, while listening to both live and album versions of other songs.

The first time I read this post I thought you meant the live versions of Grace... I was wondering who was the unfortunate audience that was treated to such cruelty by the band
  10. I should've been clearer. That is the only song that I truly dislike. I had a good laugh about your comment about the cruelty of the band if they ever played that live.
  11. I'd also like to highlight Please. Incredible live, but the lowest point of Pop. The single version is much better though. This is a small piece of evidence that suggests extra time on Pop would have been beneficial to the album itself.
  12. I rarely skip songs on albums actually.. of course many songs are better live than on the album but I usually like all the album versions in some way as well.
