Fuck, your post has made me feel so old. Feels like it was released yesterday

Because it sounds like a B side it fits well alongside "Summer Rain% and "Always" but it doesn't quite deliver on it's potential.
  4. Had the same realization. Saw Snow Patrol were doing a 20th anniversary edition of “Final Straw” and said that can’t be 20 years…I saw them playing stuff from that album when they opened for U2 on Vertigo…sigh.
  5. Has anyone thought of asking U2SJ (the original leaker) on Interference to re-rip her CD containing Mercy in a higher quality? Or was the actual track itself like that in the first place?

It seems that she has posted as recently as May of last year, so it's not like she's fallen completely off the radar.

Siderant: As someone who has only recently gotten into the online U2 fandom, it is so irritating trying to track down material which was linked to 10-15 years ago, only to be met with dead links... Makes datahoarding all the more attractive.
  6. Sounds like our best hope is a 20th Anniversary box set which is good as I vastly prefer the lyrics of the '04 version. That said, I love the more gentle piano on the live versions so I would also not be mad to see them take another crack at it.

Buuuut with the anniversary right around the corner i'll just keep my fingers crossed for any studio release at this point.

Stumbled upon this today, sounds pretty good:
  7. I love this song.
  8. Is there any back story on this track? It got pulled at the last minute?
  9. Man I really love it too. Been so long since I've heard the 04 version, such a great listen. "Love puts the blue back in my eye" is Bono's best line of that era
  10. Imagine if HTDAAB went
