1. thanks for this. I'll make time and watch a bit
  2. I always wondered what's so great about funerals that television channels broadcast them and people even watch it...

it is a wierd thing but sure. I see no problem with it. Theres a market for it. I remember watching Diana'a funeral.
  4. Somehow I understand if people wanna go to the funeral, although that seems already pretty obscene to me, but watching it on TV?

its a certain ratings hit for broadcasters (depending on who's funeral of course). It does seem a little wrong though. Just read the topic title. It does sound crazy. Its a funeral, not a sports event or something
  6. Yep, we humans do weird things...

It's an act of paying tribute in my opinion. At least that is how I feel about it.

Other than that, as I live in Germany, I don't really have the opportunity to just fly over to Italy in order to attend the funeral in person (=standing outside the church), so I gotta take that chance and watch it on television.

Hehe, maybe you're right. But I still have some problems when I use English because very often I can't imagine how things I say sound to other people.
    Sorry for the title, anyway.

Don't worry, I didn't get offended at all, mate. But in fact my title should have been better, that's true.
About broadcasting funerals or such other sad events, I approve this kind of things because communication has to delete distances between people. I'm sure millions of people are now watching Pavarotti's funeral from every part of the world, but not as it's a sports or musical event, of course. I experienced that through screens you can also pray if you want.
