1. ok, ive thought about this for a while now and it involves the new tour.
i think that on the next tour we [the members of this site] should select a single date and gig and make arrangements to all meet there.
to make this fair, i think we should have a vote and select the venue which we think will host the best gig of entire tour.
now i know we have quite a blend of international users here so i suggest this: when we decide on the venue, be it paris or sydney, we then round up the number of members whom want to commit to this idea and then add up all the travel costs and divide it by the number of people who want to take part - thus making the cost the same for everyone who wants to attend.
im sorry, because i know there is a lot of young members on this site and they are too young to make such travel arrangements, so i guess this whole idea is for the older members.
i dont have many friends who like u2 very much so this is why i am suggesting this whole idea.
the whole idea is a bit mad really, but id like to just see if anyone would express an interest in such a venture.
well Remy, what do you say? its going to take one person to organize this whole thing, but knowing this site like i do, we will all chip in and do our bit and lend our support and help to you to make such a thing happen.
is this idea possible? what do you guys think?

  2. man thats one hell of an idea but I fear it my be impossible. How about this alternative. A bunch of members from each counry can meet up at the gig most convenient for them. Eg : al the Irish members interested can meet at one of the Irish shows, and all the Dutch members meet at the Amsterdam show etc.

This way we can still meet fellow U2Start members and share our experience with the other members on the forums. Everyone meeting in Sydney etc would just be a logistical nightmare.
  3. thatss what i was thinking but i didnt wanna type all that cuz im tireed. . (first day of school 2day -_-) very tiring... and i have 2 go 2 soccer practice for 2hrs so lame but tyyea ill give it a try

I think Sydney is just a logistical nightmare by itself. Especially with this APEC meetings. Can you believe there were 93 motorcades yesterday? What a joke.

    Are you kidding me? 93?

Nope, not kidding you at all. This is real and they have snipers, motorcades and most stuff is closed.

    That's terrible. Absolutely ridiculous.
  8. great idea!

it's a little bit early to start making plans on which locations and venues..

but I am planning on flying to a show next tour, so I don't see a problem

  9. I'm on it, it'll be a struggle if its at certain times of the year/places (obviously), but I'll do what I can.
  10. I like the idea, but I like the arrangement of Gerrard even more. All teh Irish fans could meet at Croke Park, all the British fans could meet at Twickenham Stadium, the Dutch could meet at Amsterdam Arena... etc.

I am not going to be able to fly to UK, Eire, US nor Australia.
  11. Yeah, indeed it's a great idea!
But, talking about our real possibilities, I think it cannot be realized.
With Gerard's modification it gets easier to do something like that. Maybe in some countries users can really succeed in meeting at a single concert. Personally I have to move from my town anyway, so it doesn't matter if it will be to Milan or Rome or Turin or Reggio Emilia. So I can say I'll be able to take part to the Italian meeting, if it'll take place.

  12. Like A Song, I just remembered that I've got relatives in Madrid! I've got a new born spanish cousin as well so I could see him as well as going to see U2 when they next play there.
