  1. As U2 will perform here, it can have its own topic. Will take place in New York.

Adam will be honoured in New York on June 26th, at a benefit night to mark MusiCares' addiction recovery programmes.

Adam will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award in recognition of his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund as well as his commitment to helping others with the addiction recovery process. Performers on the night include Jack Garratt, The Lumineers and Macy Gray, with Cat Deeley hosting the evening.

MusiCares - a Grammy initiative - offers a variety of addiction recovery services, including the signature MAP Fund, a pool of resources to address addiction and recovery needs, which provides addiction recovery treatment and sober living resources for members of the music community.

"Adam is a hero to fans and music creators around the world,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy and MusiCares, “And he is also a hero in the world of recovery for his fearless determination to give voice to the issues of addiction that affect — and all too often devastate — our music community."

"MusiCares does such vital work in helping vulnerable people across our industry,” Adam added. "I know from experience the importance of an accessible, supportive environment in times of need and I'm always happy to do what I can to benefit this important organization."
  2. Nice award, nice recognition

But where does it say that U2 will perform?

EDIT. Found it in Adam's interview:

And what will you be doing for your MAP benefit performance?
For our set I think U2 are going to honor me, I have to say, and we’re going to do something together.
(...) Jack Garratt, he’s a phenomenal force of nature, he’s going to be with us on the night, and so will The Lumineers, who are [opening] some shows with us. (...) I think an event like this has to have some newer, younger artists, some new blood. It can’t just be established people turning up.

  3. Anyone going to this?
  4. If I was in NY, I might. Tickets are reasonable at $80 (before $16 service fee), so I guess I should say tickets are reasonable at $96
  5. Really reasonable for the amount of awesome that usually happens at those shows. I love the one's they did for Tyler, Gahan and a few others. Some real surprises there.
  6. I just got tickets. It's my birthday that day. I'll try to take pics for everyone.
  7. I envy anyone in, or close to new york. The amount of U2 love you get there is insane. That being said I'm happy for you phil that you got tickets! Glad to hear you are taking some pics.

I had a blast at the one at Carnegie Hall two years ago. It's always cool to see them in these unique settings.
  9. I bought tickets to this as soon as it was announced. I'm a fan and supporter of MusiCares. I was at the event a couple years ago to honor Pete Townshend, and it was pretty darn cool. Seeing as The Who performed at that show, I knew U2 was going to be at this one.

    Great, have fun!
