    ?????

Well, i think U2 sounds like U2, even in a dancy track. It's not the album version anyway.

  2. Norwegian DJ, Kygo has played a new song that features Bono of U2, titled “You’re The Best Thing (About Me).” Twitter user Nemi who was at the festival performance confirmed for us that “Kygo premiered the song and introduced it as a collaboration between him and U2. I don’t think it has been released yet.” http://www.ba.no says it is a new song with Bono on vocals. And http://www.vg.no is calling it a new U2 song. The song was accompanied with a lyric video on the DJ booth and screens behind Kygo. The video features cityscapes, with the lyrics appearing over top of buildings. It also contained images of a sun rise, dolphins, and beach scenes. The song was 04:26 in length.

The DJ was performing at the Cloud Nine festival in his hometown of Bergen, Norway. The song was played at the end of his set, and was called “You’re The Best Thing (About Me)”. He introduced it during his set as a “brand new song I’ve never played before that I’ve made with U2.” (translated) Kygo’s manager, Jan M. Bjordal confirmed later to the media that the song was a collaboration between U2 and Kygo.

Kygo, 24, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, is a Norwegian musician and DJ who first came to fame with a remix of an Ed Sheeran song. He was born in Singapore and started music lessons at an early age. His debut studio album Cloud Nine was released in May.

Kygo is expected to be performing at the closing ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics on August 21, perhaps he’s ready to spin the song there as well. But the Rio2016 site has said he will be performing his song “Carry Me” with guest vocalist Julia Michaels at the Maracanã Stadium. The performance will be used to launch the new Olympic Channel digital platform tomorrow night.

The song is the same song that Bono was playing from his home in the South of France recently which featured the chorus, “You’re the Best Thing About Me,” however some of the lyrics heard from those clips appear to be different than the version that Kygo played in Bergen suggesting it was a different version of the song.

Footage of the song has now appeared on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Periscope and other social media sites. Many of these are now being taken down due to copyright claims by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The earlier clips of the song recorded on the beach outside of Bono’s fate were also earlier removed. One fan group, U2ITNOL2U on Facebook saw their entire Facebook group be deleted due to posting of these earlier beach recorded videos. At this time they have not received any answer from the RIAA / Universal Music / Facebook about the deletion.

Yeah. To me there is no comparison. Even the worst of U2 is better than the best of Coldplay. Unless maybe you're on an elevator...
  4. Glad its just a remix.
  5. I don't get why so many people keep saying/hoping it's just a remix...? All sources stated it's "a collaboration between Kygo and U2". The post by buzzandmusic actually states it multiple times and so did Kygo's manager.
Personally I'm excited they're trying new things again, just like during the 90's and hope for a studio version soon.

I think people assume it's a remix, because the eze clips sounded different than what we heard at the kygo gig.

I don't mind either way tbh I like it.
  7. Same! Its lovely.
  8. Seems an odd direction to take after the band chickened out of fully commuting to Danger Mouse on SOI. A whole album of this along the Sleep Like a Baby, The Troubles and Crystal Ballroom vibes might have been interesting.

    I'll remain patient.

I bet every U2 song has dozens of (re)mixes during the making of an album.
    I'm glad we agree btw.

Also, Kygo really isn't as small/unknown as suggested. I've looked it up, he's in the top 20 of the yearly 2015 overall charts here twice so...

We'll see or hear more soon I guess.

    True.

There was that quote from Bono though about how after all was said and done he thought SoI sounded too structured or something (can't recall the exact wording used), and that SoE would have more sonic exploration.

One thing I will say is that despite my dislike for NLOTH, I always thought NLOTH 2 would've made a way better first single.

  11. That's what I keep saying everyone!
  12. Can't listen at work, but after what I continue to go through with losing Prince, I'd be happy with U2 singing into a toaster oven with Rick Rubin yelling at them in the background Sure, I might complain about how long it took for the album to be released, as I'm a complainer, but I can't possibly convey how happy I am they are still around, relevant or not.
