1. An audience and IEM matrix from Berlin 1 is now available on our show pages.
  2. It's amazing that a better source can surface for a 36 years old show Thanks César!
  3. It's not new, I'm going through the early shows and check if there's a better source out there.

  4. This looks like pro shot footage of the opening act of the Dublin Zooropa show at the RDS. Would love to see a proshot of the actual show
  5. Is that David Beckham DJ-ing?

Of course some proshot footage must exist from that show, the 3 first songs at the very least (just as with almost every show)... Not sure about the whole thing though.
  6. I see the video was uploaded by the DJ himself, "deejaymek: Opening for U2 @ R.D.S. Dublin '93"... I wonder if it was recorded by some friends of him or by U2 crew.
  7. Much better source for 1980-12-03 Paris. The boot has only 7 songs (probably only the first 11 O'Clock is missing), but it is a great listen.

  9. also think it is REALLY on december 4th, here is what wrote the taper of this night

"Talking Heads with Adrian Belew, Nogent sur Marne, Pavillon Baltard, 1980 December 4th, SM aud master [Open Torrent site]
I had requests for this show under my U2 torrent from same night (they opened for TH).
I had problems with the security / TH crew during the U2 set but not during the main act.
The sound is a little "dry" but really OK after the first song (sample).

Recorded from the floor, facing left PA using a Sony TCD5 M and a couple of Phonia powered mics.
Cassette played on a Marantz SD 4051 deck (pitch adjusted), to Zoom H4, SD card to PC, Audacity editions, FLAC (TLH).

As usually, i can certify this is the first upload from my master but i also have to say i'm discovering every day on the net that boots were made with my long time traded recordings ...
I don't know a boot from this one but i'm not a Talking Heads specialist.

Saw Talking Head twice round 97/80. First time they were supported by Dire Straits who were touring their first record, the second time by Pere Ubu in their Mayo Thompson incarnation and a band fronted by someone who seemed to model his act on Rod Stewart. They were called U2.

I attended the 80 Talking heads tour, on 4th December 1980 in Paris ("pavillon Baltard").
U2 were opening for them. I was unable to pick up the name band, I read it in the news afterwards. By the way, they got an "encore", which is not so frequent for an opening band.
However, The TH performance was in a completely different league

Talking Heads played both nights, 3rd and 4th, i dunno about U2...

the place at the time... it was ancient market place which was inside paris city, les halles, which was moved in nogent sur marne in 1976...

  10. Thanks for your comment discohype. It really made me think. I did some research too and here's what I found:
I believe the bootleg is still from Dec. 3rd and I think U2 only played one of those two nights in the Pavillon Baltard.
    1) If you listen to the bootleg, you'll see that it's from the same show as the bootlegs from Dec. 3. All have 7 songs with An Cat Dubh starting halfway. All have the same Bono speech: "uhmm... let's see... nous appelle U2 et we sont... er... is that alright?".
    2) This is documented in Pimm De la Parra's book. He only has 1 performance listed on Dec. 3.
    3) U2 had originally scheduled a show in Rochester, USA on Dec. 5 (which was cancelled, don't know exactly when), so it's hard to believe they had scheduled a show 1 day before in another continent.

    What do you think?
