    NOTES:
"This one came out better than I thought it would.
Overall I think this is a decent recording.
Although the crowd nearby is pretty loud at times,
there are hardly any audience comments, at least for
the first half of the show it remains remarkable quiet.
With Mysterious Ways & Elevation things got a bit rough
qua screaming and stuff, but I was able to remove the
"OMG, Mike [...] got pulled up on stage" for the "meercat-
    thing."
At points this recording is remarkable clear and steady
(e.g., Song For Someone) but in the more up-tempo songs,
the high frequencies tend to break away, typically where
Larry's cymbals are, giving it a bit of an "outdoor" feel
(this effect of air moving accross the mics - either by
wind, crowd movement or movement of the mics themselves -
could be minimized by using so-called windscreens, if only
self-created from old nylons or socks!).
But certainly in comparison to the Montréal 2 mixlr
recording, this one certainly sounds better overall!"

    DISCLAIMER:
If you can sell this one in order to do some good in the world (e.g., feed
a child, donate to charity or an African well), you have my deepest sympathy!
DON'T CONVERT TO FLAC AND TRADE THIS OFF AS "LOSSLESS" FOR IT IS NOT...
  2. Great job as always, Joyce. This will be in our pages soon. Great cover too!
  3. Nice, thanks for this. Any chance of FLAC files for this one and Montreal 2?
  4. They are recorded off a compressed internet stream. Do you think FLACs will make any difference (besides hard disk space)?
  5. Probably not but I'm not an audio engineer.
I was at these shows and it was a great great time! Thanks again.
  6. Probably not = right answer

Enjoy the recording as it is and make the most of it! Thanks again to Joyce for pulling this one out!
  7. Thanks
  8. For now I don't want to share the FLAC files as the might only confuse people. The stream was captured @48000Hz (16bit) mainly because I think the original audio was AAC. This is a different way of compressing audio than mp3. But with 48kHZ I have a capture that is large enough to not further compromise that compression. In fact, when re-sampled to 16/44.1kHZ (CD format) TLH will recognize it at lossless.

    Spectrum of 16/44,100 [re-sampled]:

The mp3's I've created @48khz are dynamic up to 36kHz (2x18), so to most people they sound just like the real deal.

If no other recording of Montréal 1 will surface, then I might share the flac's too - because they actually are a little less lossy than the mp3's shared here.
But in principle this is a lossy recording (probably AAC).

Hope to have been able to clarify a little bit more
  9. Sure did. Thanks BigGirl.
  10. I just discovered this...so do I understand this right? This was "broadcasted"? One crazy Springsteen fan started streaming shows from his mobile phone. Crap quality, of course, and what for? Ruining the own viewing experience by holding up a crappy video recording device the whole show...so what's the deal here? I don't assume proper mics were used but a person held up his Iphone the whole show? Or was it in the pocket?
