It's his show. He can do what he wants. Everyone will be refunded.

    That's quite a provoking guess
  3. Probably sold similar to U2.
  4. A lot of tours get pulled when they are not selling enough tickets and some BS excuse get thrown out there U2 pulled out of a gig during Popmart in the US and said the screen was damaged but it was down to poor ticket sale not saying that is the case with Metallica but it was very late for them to cancel just wondering were the tickets selling well.
  5. It's been postponed not cancelled.

And they're not selling tickets for TBA dates, just to give them more time to shift more tickets.

The screen was damaged because of rain at the previous show, the band wouldn’t cancel a show for poor ticket sales they had poor sales at other popmart shows and they were played. It was probably poor sales that stopped them from rescheduling it though. I think Metallica would have played as well if it wasn’t for serious issues.

Word is that the Popmart Raleigh show has around 20,000 tickets sold at the time it was cancelled. They went ahead with Jacksonville and Tampa, both of which ended up having less than 20,000 in attendance. They may not have bothered to reschedule it because of poor ticket sales, I guess.

I’m sure that by postponing this leg of the tour, Metallica are losing a lot of money. The problem must have been very serious that they felt the need to postpone, rather than just plow ahead for another month and then get James into rehab.

I’m not really a metal fan, but I have seen Metallica live and like most of their stuff. I hope he gets the help he needs and that they can get back to these shows ASAP.

Even the cancellation tactics can have ticket sales motives! Don't you agree 2010/2011 U2?
