1. Elevation from Boston I'd say.
2. I'd say this doesn't belong in this forum I'll move this one.

And for me.. the best.. despite Bono's horrible vocal performance the Superbowl one is awesome. Notable honors for Slane Castle and some Lovetown performances too, what about the New Year's Eve one or the one with the amazing snippets in Rotterdam or other Dublin shows.
3. Give me a break. Im a rookie to this site. I'm one of the few U2 fans I know so the internets is my friend once it come to discussing this terific band.

No problem mate! Welcome here! Hope you have a nice time
5. I'd say:

1) Slane Castle (set-up with All I Want Is You and it's pure magic...it gives me intense chills)
2) Boston
3) Sydney'93 (actually all ZOO-TV performances are great, with Running to StandStill)
4) Joshua Tree Tour and Lovetown versions, like Point Depot.

The Vertigo one was good, but too political if you ask me

hey c'mon now, give the poor guy a break...It wasn't his best performance by far but I wouldn't call it horrible. In many of the interviews after, he even mentioned that he was very nervous about that show. I guess egotistical, megalomaniac-complex driven rock star singers can get nervous

For me, personally, I'd say the Rattle & Hum Streets was really gorgeous but ultimately, the impact of the song depends on the song it transitions from and in that case, definitely Popmart, Rotterdam. Bono on his knees hitting pleading in a falsetto, the base notes changing and shifting and then the Edge's guitar trickling in and the audience's reaction surging up...definitely a moment that song was made for!

Well, his voice was, regardless of how nervous he was or not

8. WARNING: Long post! This is my favorite song ever.

I go in obsessive phases that last anywhere from a few weeks to a few years.

Currently my go-to verison is "Hasta La Vista, Baby!", which comes from the same concert as the 1997-12-03 PopMart Mexico City but it is a different mix, which is significant for me.
-I love the fast tempo, Edge's hot-but-not-too-distorted guitar.
-Mexicola, mexicola instead of Playboy Mansion snippet
-"Where the streets have no shame" one time
-Loud crowd mix
-Little things, like when Edge is strumming (the 3 highest-pitched strings) after the lights go on and he accidentally hits the open D (4th) string, and it drones and then echoes in such a way that gives me chills every time. Or when Bono starts with, "Higher! Higher! Ahh... I wanna ruh-uh-huunnnn... y I want to hide. [NOTE: "y" means "and" in Spanish, he didn't flub there) I want to tear down the WALLS!" Other versions that have held the title of "Best Streets" in my mind include: Rattle And Hum (for a few years)
Elevation Boston (for a few years; it always eclipsed Slane for me, as good as that version was)
Vertigo Chicago (for a few months)
Popheart EP / Please (Single) from PopMart Rotterdam

Since U2start I've cycled through great versions a little more quickly. Those have included:
1989-12-31 Lovetown Dublin / Happy New Year Especially when the organ hits the Auld Lang Syne resolving major chord (lasting from 1:30 - 1:34) and the band steps out into visibility. Out of the constant screaming arises this collective, cathartic "sighing" sort of roar, as if everybody is relieved because U2 is here, and for now, everything in the world is going to be alright. (Well, this moment makes me feel that way. Considering the recent falling of the Wall, it probably DID feel that way.) Almost brings me to tears when I listen to it alone, not blasting, just in a quiet sort of way. "Oh yeah! I wanna run!"
1993-11-16 ZooTV Adelaide / Zoolaide: Starts with that booming bass note which is etched into my memory.
1989-12-26 Lovetown Dublin / X-mas at the Point Depot: Poem at beginning. Trampled in dust!
2001-06-17 Elevation New York / New York Love Affair: Life-changing moment. I was there and it is captured well on boot.
1987-11-07 Joshua Tree Denver / Mountains And Deserts: Best "HOAH!" before the lights go on. Great drums & guitar mix! Better than the film! At the end, Bono yells, "OHHHHH YEAH!!"

Streets will probably always be my favorite song because when I grow tired of it, I can just move onto another favorite version! Oh yeah, the album version is also absolutely incredible. Every erratic nuance of Bono's voice, Edge's guitar, Adam's bass and Larry's snare captures this perfect version from what feels like a spontaneous jam, it feels live (just with no crowd noise.
9. For me Streets is great in every performance where Bono reaches the high notes with little effort. That means any performance between 1987 and 1993. For example, Dortmund 92, Dublin 93, Denver 87, Paris 89, Dublin 89, Rotterdam 90, Verona 93, Osaka 89... I could go on for hours...
10. Well here's my best fom lovetown onwards...

LOVETOWN: Dublin 1989-12-31

ZOO TV: Sydney... with running to standstill building into it... awesome stuff!!!

POPmart: Dunno really... streets was a bit dead on the POPmart tour for me...

ELEVATION: Definitely Slane for me...

VERTIGO: The best one i've heard from the Vertigo tour is from Gothenburg 2005-07-29... This recording has the best sound of the edge's guitar... simply awesome... This bootleg is awesome to!!! if you don't have it GET IT!!! don't miss the snippet of "rain" going into "do you hear us coming lord?" at the end of "one"... awesome!!!

12. You are all wrong my friends.

Listen to Houston soundboard 1992-10-14.

Streets is never bad live, but was at its peak under the ZOOTV Tour. This is the best version.
