Still relying on other sources for my music fix in the midst of this extended period of U2 silence. This young fella is doing it on his own. Runner up on Australian idol a few years back I think. Very luckily didn't win it. Put simply, he has the best vocals of any fella I've heard. From falsettos to wailing blues and his live ability is unreal. I've left a selection of his stuff below. I'm sure you'll love him.

Awesome voice (most notable thing is the versatility, he can do a falsetto and a screamed groan in the same verse), awesome songs too. The interviewer in the 2nd video was genuinely amazed!!
Gerard, I think you would like Dry The River, similar style (a bit more folk-ish and less lonesome-songwriter) and amazing vocalist too.
A few Eps but from what I see he's been touring the UK already so he's pretty popular. We'll keep an eye on him just in case he comes around Belfast out of the blue He played Madrid last December so anything's possible.
On Call by KOL as well. A man of many talents. The Secret Garden shows are an awesome concept. Stopping off at fans houses in between tour gigs to play a few songs in their gardens. Brilliant
