    Hey there We've missed you.

In my opinion (but I'm not listening to every bootleg like I used to do), the five bootlegs to have from this past 3 years (as in show quality, best setlist PLUS available recording quality) are these:

    2017-05-14 - Seattle, Washington - CenturyLink Field
    2017-07-16 - Rome, Italy - Stadio Olimpico

2017-11-16 - London, England - Abbey Road Studios

2018-07-01 - New York, New York - Madison Square Garden
    2018-11-10 - Dublin, Ireland - 3Arena
  4. A friend asked me to tell her "the best bootlegs by tour, for every U2 tour since Boy" so I cheated a bit and I actually made two lists based on different criteria:

    Best recordings
    2019-12-05 Tokyo
    2018-11-10 Dublin
    2017-05-21 Pasadena
    2015-07-02 Chicago
    2011-06-18 Anaheim
    2005-04-28 Vancouver
    2001-08-01 Arnhem
    1997-11-14 Miami
    1993-08-28 Dublin
    1992-06-15 Rotterdam
    1989-12-26 Dublin
    1987-04-29 Chicago
    1984-10-23 Nantes
    1983-05-06 Boston
    1981-12-13 Lido Beach
    1981-05-15 San Francisco

    Best performance
    2019-12-04 Tokyo
    2018-11-10 Dublin
    2017-05-14 Seattle
    2015-09-13 Amsterdam
    2010-10-08 Roma
    2006-12-09 Honolulu
    2001-10-27 New York
    1998-02-11 Santiago
    1992-03-05 Atlanta
    1992-05-22 Milan
    1990-01-10 Rotterdam
    1987-08-08 Bruselas
    1985-02-05 Bologna
    1983-03-24 Glasgow
    1982-02-11 New Orleans
    1981-02-12 La Haya

I really think with these 2 boots per tour someone can really know what U2 live is like. Can't think of a better summary for 44 years of live career.

(And yes, I included 2 boots for Zoo TV. Just because I can, ha).
  5. 1997-08-28 - Leeds, England - Roundhay Park

Best bootleg from Popmart in my opinion.

As for the Sarajevo debate, it was a great occasion, significant occasion for all involved but the performance wasn't that great in my opinion.

I’ve never seen the appeal of the Sarajevo show as a listening experience. For people that were there it’s a great memory and the recording is a way to relive it but if you weren’t there your just listening to a sub par performance when there’s better available.
  7. Sarajevo is great recording and performance too... Yes,Bono lost voice, but it made it more special... I really love it. Recorded it from radio on tape... probably my first bootleg from Popmart.

I take it your a big fan of walk on from Glasgow 2009 as well when the PA cut out that was a special performance of that song

it's sub par because of one thing, but in other aspects it's very interesting. It's interesting to hear the struggle of Bono losing his voice more and more. Some songs still sound great (Mofo, Bullet), others different but still very listenable and some just quite bad, but with the audience and/or Edge taking over still works nice.. Well, maybe it also makes a difference if you heard it live on the radio back then (and also saw images of Sarajevo in the news every night in the years before).. this show certainly gives some special vibes.. maybe not a recording you would recommend to someone who just got into U2, but in the end it's probably the most special show they ever did. I get your point, but apart from Bono's voice this recording is excellent, combined with the special occassion I think it's a must have/listen recording. Leeds probably is the best overall, but I certainly would put Sarajevo in my PopMart top 5 (if I had to make one )
  10. Sarajevo is GREAT.

EBTTRT is an awesome performance IMO. One of the best versions of the song live.

Truly an iconic show! In the history of rock.
  11. But Bono lost his voice. So it just can’t be the best boot ever, how special the show.

Best boot is (of course) Zooropa Dublin 28-8-1993

that one got Adam singing (WLCTT), so that can't be the best boot either. But you're probably right, it's certainly the one I've played the most.
