It reminds me more of Mercy for some reason.

  5. Yeah, Mercy would have been a hundred times better without the lyrics too.

All the lepers you let in your head - is it empty now?
Cos you think that can love
And you think that you can love

I like this part. I don't really like the 'You do your Disappearing Act' parts that much. The piano outro is great but strange. To me it sounds a bit like three songs merged together. Still a good song.

And Yoshino Blossom reminds me of a cartoon intro tune.

Yea, I also dislike the way they sing "you do your disappearing act" makes them seem really old and kills the song's atmosphere..
They should have just left it out as the rest of the song is just beautiful.

I like the piano outro, it's sort of unexpected, you would normally expect a long, slowly unwinding intro from these type of U2 songs (eg. Love Comes Tumbling, Streets) but I think it adds something DA's character and makes it feel more modern.

The notes if anyone wants to play it:
    Bb A Bb F x2
    Bb A Bb F Eb D Eb D C D C Bb C D C

    Bb A Bb F x2
    Bb A Bb F Eb D Eb D C D C Bb C D C Bb&F (or Bb&G)

  8. Agree. I like the piano but the you do... parts kill the atmosphere. bit like the intro of magnificent.
  9. This song would not sound out of place on the Million Dollar Hotel soundtrack. Especially how Bono is singing it, very atmospheric and dark. I love it. 8.5 / 10

The piano outro is very Eno, I think (though not as Eno as Yoshino Blossom). But I agree there's a disjointedness about the song that does make it seem like a patchwork of different ideas.
  11. simply beautiful, beautiful.... beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!
