    I was listening to the song Vertigo and looking for different video's on YouTube
    There i saw that a lot of people are discussing about why Bono says Unos, Dos, Tres, Quatorze instead of Quatro (or how do you spell it)

    I don't know If there already is/was a topic on this but I just wanted to ask this :

    Couldn't It be possible that he says 14 because Vertigo was the first single of the 14th album (HTDAAB) ??

    I've never read this possibility but thta's my opinion why It's 14, what do you think ?
  2. He said apparently that he stuffed up, but yeah this is the common man's thinking about of '14' because Vertigo is their 14th studio album.
  3. There are lots of explanations of that.

    -Some people say it's a joke to the science (the number "PI" is 3,14>> "tres, catorce"), bc the science is a topic which Bono likes very much.

    -Other people say it's a joke to us the Spaniards, because he counts in Spanish and then he jumps up to the fourteen, a number stranger than the four. I don't think so.

    -Other people, based on an interview in a Spanish TV some time ago, say that Bono didn't want to make an easy, common entrance. Bruce Springsteen said to Bono some time ago: "The rock'n'roll is never --one-two-three-four--".

    -And other people say that Bono has clearely forgotten his Spanish-younghood lessons and he doesn't remember the numbers.

    I think the first explanation is the most possible, because the science is a present theme in the Album (Miracle Drug, some of LAPOE and One Step Closer...).
    I don't know.

    That were also the ones i've read on youtube but I justed wanted to know what you think about my opinion because it was the first thing i thaught about and i've never read the possibility
    But as you say, I think we'll never know If Bono don't say It himself (and even then he can tell us something different )

    Wide Awake and Blood Red Sky are NOT sutudio albums, and I really don't know why you say 14!
    11 real albums + Under A Blood RS + Wide Awake IA = 13!! Where is the 14th?

    Well I guess you're right
    You only get 14 when you count the , under a blood red sky and Best of 1980-1990 and the best of 1990-2000 as well, but those are not really albums to me, just Best Ofs or a live album.

    Oh yes BelgianBono, you're right! I think that the official number of U2 albums is available only on U2.com, so there's no longer any matter about it.
    The matter of the "catorce" still remains, but I think it is referred to the number of the albums. I thought so even the first time I read the lyrics of Vertigo.
    Really pleased to debate a matter with LikeASong, who is one of the best expert of U2 here at U2START!

    And nop, I don't know Bono's email adress, I know his home adress, but not email. Maybe you can get it searching thru u2.com or so. Good luck!
    EDIT:: Oh, last thing: it's CATORCE, not QUATORZE. Please be considered with my planguage as I am with yours (Ja, ich sprichst deutsch und/ et je parle français). I'd never say "Fierzen" as "Vierzehn", or "Cuatorce" as "Quatorze". Let's be right with the languages!
