It's been too long since I listened to a JT show. This one has a quite nice performance, but not much feels stellar. Bono's voice is, well, JT-ish. Pretty nice and full but pretty bad on the high notes. He sounds like a frog during Pride's chorus. The best performance was Exit, it had a cool snippet and was generally awesome.
The band tried to change the setlist for this show... it didn't quite work but I give them creds for trying. I also felt a lack of snippets in a few songs.
The sound is fully decent for a 24 years old recording. It is a bit muddy and overly bassy, but you hear everything. You unfortunately hear some crowd talking at times which is a bit annoying, but no biggie really. The taper seemed to get very excited by Bad, something that gave us an annoying tapping sound. The sound is also very muffled during Streets, so that song is unfortunately not very enjoyable.
Recording: Audience microphone - 4 stars
I really like them, they manage to give a very nice atmosphere.
It's a nice Joshua Tree show. Most songs are done very well, but at the same time lack that little bit of extra.

"We're at a point where production has gotten so slick that people don't trust it anymore... We were starting to lose trust in the conventional sound of rock & roll - the conventional sound of guitar ... those big reverb-laden drum sounds of the '80s or those big, beautiful, pristine vocal sounds with all this lush ambience and reverb. So we found ourselves searching for other sounds that had more life and more freshness."
- The Edge, explaining the band's motivation for seeking a new sound with Achtung Baby

Although instrumental, the song '4th Of July' was recorded on the 4th of July, it is about how they felt that day. The Edge was playing the guitar, completely unaware that Brian Eno (one of the producers) was recording it.
