Performance

A very energetic clean performance from U2 in Chicago. The set is a strong UF standard set with some lovely little snippets and chat from Bono.

11 O'Clock Tick Tock for me is a great opener to a gig. It's a slow start but the end of the song really starts to pump up the energy, which leads really well into IWF. Seconds is good too.

I love the way that U2 used to play MLK this early in a set. It really is unusual and I think it suits them as a band. Maybe they should try it again(?). UF is excellent and Wire is superb, especially Bono's acapella at the end. I think I've heard SBS too many times to get excited about it nowadays, but Electric Co is excellent, especially with the extended middle 8.

Now we get to the section of the show I was really interested in! ASOH is really, really, very good. It's close to Wide Awake In America standards. And a 10 minute version of Bad is nothing but excellent at any point. I have always loved the Bad>October>NYD sequence, and this is really superb here.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Pride could be dropped from a great height for me. But the encore is brilliant. KOHD is one of the best covers that U2 have ever done and this version is good. Gloria is energietic and "40" brings the show to a wonderful close.

One of the best UF shows I've heard.

Sound

The sound is very good considering the age of the boot, but it loses a star because there is quite a bit of editing and also some 'skipping', especially in the middle of SBS.
Recording: "Four At Four" - 4 stars

Audience

They were singing along and cheering and seemed to be enjoying the show.

Overall

As a boot, it loses half a star for the sound, but if you want a UF show, go for this one. It is really really good.

Highlights:
-Bad>October>NYD
-ASOH
-Electric Co.
-Wire
-Knockin' on Heaven's Door
-"40"

lowlights
-I'd have to be really picky to a have a lowlight, so none!
