Performance

What an incredible performance! Bono's voice was strong and the band were, as they say, on fire. Every song was hit excellently, and The Joshua Tree in whole sounded incredible. The screen was truly mindbending, especially from my position in GA. Bono was in a playful mood, and getting to see his weird little movements, hopping and bobbing about like some big bird, in person was really great! The show was a bit special for Adam, who was honoured by MusiCares the following night. During RTSS, Adam got a special focus, and I could swear it looked like he got a bit teary there. It was lovely to see Bono and Adam squaring off together, and exchanging big hugs during the show. Exit was totally crazy with Bono going totally nuts as The Shadow Man, and the show closing with an intense, beautiful rendition of The Little Things That Give You Away took things to a whole new level.

Audience

They were pretty great! The part of the GA where I was certainly had a grand time, singing and jumping. Sunday Bloody Sunday and especially Running To Stand Still were real standout moments for the crowd. It was cool that so many people were excited to hear Red Hill Mining Town. Exit blew people away - it seemed like most of the audience were simply stunned by it! Closing with The Little Things That Give You Away maybe lost some of the crowd, but I think I went down quite well (I know it was a highlight for me!!)

Overall

The show was awesome. Boston shows are generally great and this one was no exception. The Joshua Tree really was the heart and soul of the show, obviously, and it was perfect. Where the Streets Have No Name was a truly transcendent moment and Exit was totally crazy. The encore was no disappointment either, with Miss Sarajevo providing a surprisingly moving moment, and Vertigo rocking the house. The Little Things That Give You Away was beyond beautiful. The band were doing a great show and clearly having a lot of fun. Bono was funny and playful, and Edge, Larry, and Adam were all clearly playing really well of this excited crowd!
