Comments:
"This excellent recording is a mix of a very good audience tape by f.w.
and a before rarely circulated IEM recording of that night. The sound
quality is excellent, but has also some weak points caused by the
typical IEM clicking. A lot of it has been removed or reduced with a
slight lost of quality. This is for example notable during the beginning
of WTSHNN and WOWY.
But still, without clicking it might be more enjoyable than with it.
And without questioning it is very enjoyable recording to listen to.
It is perhaps one of the best recordings from the Elevation tour.
This recording is close to the quality of Birdman's ALD/AUD Mix from
the night before and the famous 'Cleveland Tea Party' recording.
You can clearly hear Bono's voice and Larry's drumming. Unfortunately
Edge's guitar is sometimes a little bit hard to hear. Crowd noise is
almost not present or at least in no way disturbing. It only comes
in at the right time.
The packaging is black/white which might sound a bit chaste.
This is unusual but makes it somehow special. The discs come in a
standard double disc jewel case. Overall very nice and noble packaging.
The concert itself meaning U2's performance is great but not outstanding.
Still, if you like the Elevation tour, you might consider getting this one."

Performance

Great performance. The ZooTV opening is great, but it seems like the band really hit their stride once they get to the newer material. Bono plays with the lyrics in several songs, most notably I Will Follow, where he has a long musical ramble about the city and never trusting rock stars. Bono fumbles a bit in Even Better. The outro to One into the Wake Up Dead Man snippet is excellent, as is the transition from Until the End of the World to New Year’s Day. Kite is properly emotional. Sweetest Thing is surprisingly good here. All I Want Is You builds quite excitingly and that transition into Streets with the Psalm 116 snippet is beautiful. With Or Without You has Shine Like Stars, a little extra ad-libbing, and lovely guitar work from Edge. Overall the encore is pretty good.

Sound

No complaints. The audience could be louder in places, perhaps.

Audience

Good crowd, lots of cheering, but not absolutely superb.

Overall

Great sound, excellent setlist. The songs are all strong, though some shine more than others. Bono is funny and plays with lyrics, though his voice isn’t great. Overall, a solid Elevation show - playful, intimate, crisp.
