Performance:
Promo gigs are never really good, this one isn't a cracker either. The songs sound more or less pre-recorded (for example Edge's singing amd some guitar rythms) and only Miracle Drug was above average. I don't like Bono's voice on this one, but I can't blame him for that.
Pubblico:
Only 150 people out there so it's pretty intimate, but they are probably still louder than the average American crowd in a stadium nowadays.
Sound:
Not very very good for a broadcast. City of Blinding Lights is even pretty bad mixed, the channels swap constantly. Also the crowd is at some points even louder than the band.
Generale:
Highlights: Miracle Drug
Lowlights: Bad mixing of the sound, too heavy prerecorded |

Performance:
'You forget, that the United States of America are so loud' Bono says during the very first Zoo TV gig. Well I'm wondering if he would still say that at this moment...
But this is about the show. For a opening gig it's pretty flawless, meaning that they didn't seriously messed up a song. Of course the show doesn't flow like it does later on. I mean, closing the main set with I Still Haven't Found isn't a really great idea. Even Better Than The Real Thing sounds a bit stiff, mainly because Edge plays it at a lower key (a bit more like the album version), even Bono notices it : 'Turn it up, the guitar!'
Other songs that were played (slightly) different later on this tour are Mysterious Ways (little longer intro + slide solo is a little less exciting), Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses (fairly epic outro-solo by Edge). Also that, Ultra Violet has a different (but nice) intro, playing the openingriff first for one time and then again with drums and bass kicking in. At first I thought it was a mess-up, but listening to the rehearsals it was meant to be played like this.
Overall a pretty interesting opening show, nice to hear how songs changed during the tour.
Pubblico:
It's a good American crowd, pretty noisy during the show, particular during Even Better Than The Real Thing, Mysterious Ways, Bullet The Blue Sky, Pride, Where The Streets Have No Name and Desire. Although they even had bad habits back then, iif you hear closely you can hear people having a conversation during the show.
Sound:
3.5 stars, it's a pretty decent recording. Bono's loud enough, Edge, Larry and Adam are a bit too distant. Still enjoyable, didn't cause a headache.
Generale:
Highlights: Ultra Violet, Mysterious Ways, Bullet The Blue Sky, Who's Gonna Ride Your Willd Horses
Lowlights: Even Better Than The Real Thing.
Fan advice: very interesting to hear the earlier live versions of songs described above. |

Performance:
The six songs they played were all pretty powerfull. One, Magnificent and Beautiful Day were average. Sunday Bloody Sunday, Vertigo and Moment of Surrender were all nailed.
Pubblico:
Average crowd, from where I was standing there were not many people single along, but listening to the broadcast and audience recording, they were still making some noise.
Sound:
Obviously the broadcasted songs have top sound, the audience ones arent that good. Still enjoyable though.
Generale:
Great to be there, special location for a special city. Sunday Bloody Sunday is great with Jay Z, Vertigo is also rocking ('Achtung Baby!') and Moment of Surrender is still beautiful as a closer. I would rate it 4.5 stars if they played Stay. |

Performance:
Band is certainly on fire once again in Amsterdam. They surprises us with 3 tourdebutes and the crowd went nuts for sure. Songs that were played the night before were better that night though (except for WOWY, UV and One and NLOTH are up there with night one). Until The End Of The World, Elevation and Bad were amazing. Sunday Bloody Sunday was great as well (better than night one), with great Rock The Casbah snippet.
Pubblico:
Crowd was very good again, and that had a positive effect on the band, I was in it again ;-)
Sound:
Not as good as the night one bootleg unfortunateley... too much individuel screaming and singing, sound is not as clear and balanced as the one from night one.
Generale:
Hightlights: Elevation, Until The End Of The World, Bad, No Line On The Horizon, Ultra Violet, Sunday Bloody Sunday
Lowlights: Bono had some trouble with the lyrics tonight, although his voice is great. On top of that most of the 'standard' songs this tour were better the previous night.
Still a great bootleg though. |

Performance:
Brilliant performance, they were certainly on fire this night, they nailed almost every song (except for With Or Without You), they especially nailed Crazy Tonight, Moment Of Surrender, Beautiful Day (with lovely 'Blackbird' snippet), Unknown Caller, Unforgettable Fire, City Of Blinding Lights, No Line On The Horizon, Where The Streets Have No Name, Vertigo...
Bonos voice was top notch. Ultra Violet was great too although the sound of the guitar kicks a little too late in in the intro.
Pubblico:
Amsterdam always delivers a great audience, and it was a mixed audience with people from everywhere (Germany, Portugal, France, Belgium, even Americans). And I was in it too.
Sound:
Very good for a audience bootleg, especially the B!igGirl Remaster, only Edge's guitar could have been a bit louder during the chorusses of NLOTH.
Generale:
Hightlights:
Almost every song, especially the songs mentioned before.
Lowlights: Can't really think of anyone but WOWY, Bono was obviously saving his voice for the almighty Moment Of Surrender. |

Performance:
Firstly, I don't listen that much to early day gigs, it's not that I dislike that period, I just like the 90's much more.
Although it's quite a small gig (running time is only one hour) it left a good impression of what U2 were standing for around that time. They played most of their (at that moment) best songs, although they didn't played 11 O'Clock, which is a shame. Bono's voice is fine (only low is the Give Peace A Chance snippet which sounds awful.), Edge, Larry & Adam are good too, although less energetic than six days later. Some nice speeches by Bono. Notable performances of A Day Without Me (Dear Prudence snippet), Electric Company (Larry's cymbals), Sunday Bloody Sunday , I Will Follow (very energetic, Edge's guitar) and Surrender (entire band).
Pubblico:
It's a soundboard so it's quite logical that you can't hear the audience that good. Only during some seconds of the gig you can hear them (when Bono shouts 'California!' for example). 3.5*
Sound:
Rated as 5-stars, I would give it 4-4.5* tops. There are a little cracks here and there and at some points you can't almost hear one of the instruments. It's not flawless.
Generale:
Very good War Tour - Gig, I would rate this as 4.5 stars for letting 11 O'Clock out. Must-have for the medium bootleg collectors as me.
Highlights:
A Day Without Me
Electric Company
Surrender
Sunday Bloody Sunday
I Will Follow
Lowlights:
They should have played 11 O'Clock Tick Tock, and the Give Peace A Chance is afwul. |

Performance:
Far better than the Grammy performance but still there is a lot work to do.
Pubblico:
Bleh. Girls Aloud Fans. Worse than Grammys, crowd was pretty excited over there.
Sound:
Broadcast, so clear sound.
Generale:
Riffs, drums and bass are great and so is the singing (overall) but they haven't nailed it yet. |
