Performance:
A routine performance. Nothing extraordinary or jaw dropping, but a solid show overall. Bono's voice seemed to be a bit weak from the start, but I think things picked up quite a bit after Bad. It's a good show, but our standards are rightfully set fairly high considering some of the great Zoo TV shows, and I don't know if this one met the standards all of us (well, most of us, anyway) set. There are a few things that stood out to me, though:
- Ultraviolet....Liked it, but as Casper said, it's not up there with Washington or Dublin. If I was the band, I would lock Edge in a room until he learned to play this again. I'm going to make a bold prediction and say that we see this on the next tour.
- My Girl....I've never cared this snippet. Don't know why, though.
- Love Is Blindness.....Great. Possibly one of my top 5 favorite performances of it. It was my favorite from the show.

Not amazing or spectacular, but definitely an improvement over the original. It's a bit shaky at some points, but most bootlegs are...Steve did a pretty good job.
Generale:
liked it, but it is by no means an "essential". If you're a someone with a lot of hard drive space, grab the upgrade. If you just want the basic Zoo Bootlegs, you can find a lot better. The crowd was your typical Italian crowd: Energetic, Enthused, and singing along with every song. I'm going to say that the Italian crowds are just as passionate and into the show as the South American crowds. And we all know that the South American U2 crowds are always amazing... |

Performance:
Well, this was the first show in months, so you have to keep that in mind before criticizing the bands performance here. I think you also have to consider that the sound quality (or lack thereof) can effect your views on a performance, and this is one of those shows. Would I think Larry's drumming during "Elevation" sounded horrible on a 5 star soundboard? Probably not. So I feel I can't really judge if the band was having an off night or not, because I was so distracted by the piss poor sound quality.
- Walk On was very different than most arrangements, but not in a good way.
- Until The End Of The World was placed in a very nice spot in the setlist, as I love the trio of Elevation - UTTEOTW - NYD.
- Kite was decent, although it lacked the energy that it usually has.
Pubblico:
Really energetic, and enthused. Just like any other Australian U2 show
Sound:
Horrible. If you were to record it from underneath the Brisbane river, this is what it would sound like. In more common terms, it was cold, distant, and not suitable for my sensitive ears lol....

Performance:
Ups
- Mofo was completely nailed
- One was decent. Missed the extended guitar from ZOO TV as Dan stated earlier.
- HMTMKMKM is one of the best live song from this era. They always seemed to nail it and this show was no exception.
- EBTTRT was good as always. I think this song gets better with every tour.
- I was surprised that Bono's voice was as strong as it was. One of the rare Popmart shows where his voice didn't drag.
- Miami continues to grow on me. Me and Gerard always used to say that we hated it. I'm sorry Gerard, I've crossed to the dark side.
- Please/Streets is a lethal combination. Only one could top it, and that would be Bad/Streets.
- Great crowd participation during WOWY.
- Love the rare, Popmart versions of MLK.
Downs
- Disappointed with Last Night On Earth. It was quite boring, which is rare for me to say, as I love this song.
- Edge's karaoke was slow and a little sluggish.

Sound:
I agree with Sergio, it's not really 5 stars. I Would say it's a 4 or 4.5. I was disappointed because the crowd was lost. Some of the early 1st leg Vertigo shows (Anaheim, San Diego, etc.) seemed to have a bigger crowd. As Gerard said, it sounds more like 20, 000. This was one of those shows that sounded like it was recorded from the very back of the Stadium, and had a very similar quality as our first round table show (UF Tour - Phoenix).
Generale:
Pretty good show, but there are plenty of others that I prefer. (Mexico, Leeds, Sarajevo, Miami, Tel-Aviv, Santiago, just to name a few.) That might just be a matter of personal preference, but I think others will agree that while this show is decent, it's not one of the top notch Popmart shows. If you can get past the sound, then by all means, grab it. |

PROS
--I Fall Down was good as usual. By far one of the most underrated U2 songs.
--I Will Follow was amazing! Is it just me, or was this song way more exciting during the Boy Tour?
--The Electric Co. is an all-time favorite of mine, and the Yankee Doodle snippet fit well in the middle/end of the song.
--Things to Make and Do makes a rare appearance
--Stories For Boys great. I think it's obvious that this was a live staple during the early days.
--Great band performance
CONS
--Audio quality left a little to be desired, but still a decent recording for 26 years ago.
--Boy-Girl is atrocious. Never been a fan of this song
--Not a big fan of Fire

Overall I felt this was a great show. The energy was there, from both the band and the crowd. The audience seemed to have an intense passion, especially during the opening numbers |

Performance:
Wire is utter chaos, but in a good way. I love that song even more after re-listening to this show. It's such a powerful song. I felt as if I was hyperventilating while I listened to it.
11 O'Clock Tick Tock was strong as usual.
I Will Follow had a few bumps in the road, but overall it was good.
I don't really care for 4th of July being played over the P.A. It just doesn't really fit, and it's kinda odd to segue into !EOTT. It kinda reminds me of the early Boy shows where they opened with The Ocean.
Possibly one of my top 10 favorite performances of Bad. Quite ironic though that I've never heard a "Bad" version of that particular song...
I absolutely love The Unforgettable Fire and ASOH live!
Seconds was decent.
the "Falling" vocal when October segues into NYD sounded great. Anybody know what I mean?
Nothing better than ending the show with a 9 minute version of 40!

Decent sound. Pretty much a clear, high quality boot. Great, but nothing special.
Generale:
Overall I think this is a great show. The band was pretty consistent, with just a few bumps in the road. My only complaint is that on the UF tour, they didn't play many UF songs. I think they realized that when putting together the JT tour, and that might be why on the JT tour they played so many "New" songs off of JT, where they didn't do tthat on the UF tour. I think this show is sort of a "preview" of the JT tour, as they began playing covers, such as Knockin' On Heaven's Door. |

Performance:
Top notch performance. Zoo Station and The Fly were almost flawless. You have to love Bono at the start of Real Thing: "Will you catch me this time if I fall? If I fall, if I fall?" this is obviously a reference to when he broke his arm in DC during the Joshua Tree Tour. Middle section was great, with the exception of New Year's Day, although, as Gerard said, it was bound to be shaky. Still love it though, as it was quite raw, and I love U2 raw. (Must be why I like Popmart Vegas, lol) TTTYAATW is great live, and I don't think the studio version does it justice. I could've lived without the acoustic set, especially Angel and Satellite. Loved Bad into SBS, as well as RTSS into Streets, which I would really enjoy seeing on the next tour, but only if RTSS was ZOO TV style. I've always been quite fond of Zoo TV Desire, and this one was just as good, if not better, than the version on the Sydney DVD. Not really much else to say about the encore, other than I liked it...
Pubblico:
Default rating as the crowd noise is not present due to this being a soundboard recording.
Sound:
Sound quality is quite good, although there is a slight hiss. Nothing real noticeable though, I think we can all agree that a hiss in a soundboard is way less annoying than in a audience recording. The upgrade is much, much better (current links on this page are the upgrade referred to). Comparing the two side by side, is amazing, definitely a difference there.
Generale:
An essential bootleg. Grab the upgrade though, and you should be pleasantly surprised. |

Performance:
Positives:
- Some good, but rare snippets
- Party Girl was hilarious. It's always funny when Bono forgets the lyrics
- I loved this version of Running To Stand Still
- Beautiful Day was above average
- The Fly
- Mysterious Ways
- A great performance of SYCMIOYO. I'm not usually a fan of this live, but for some reason this version stuck out to me.
Negatives:
- Larry's drums drove me nuts! Especially during the songs with "Military" drumming. I first noticed it during LAPOE and SBS. It seemed to calm down for a few songs. But it picked back up with Pride. It sounded like he was drumming with two bricks or two pieces of iron.
- Miracle Drug gave me a headache. I don't think Edge was playing in time. It seems that he was off just a little bit in this performance.
- Boring Setlist. It was better with Beautiful Day though. I don't like Vertigo being linked with stuff from Boy. I would much rather see it linked with stuff from Achtung Baby or ATYCLB.
- All Because Of You should not be played live. It's a good studio song, but when it's played live it sucks.
- Just an average performance of The Electric Co. I think this song got boring or predictable after a while.

Very clear quality.
Generale:
Overall, it was a boring show. But I'm biased because I'm not really fond of 2nd Leg Vertigo. I hate the setlists, especially with Vertigo opening and ending the show. Sure, it gives it that "Retro" feel, but it just doesn't work. I'd much rather see it opening the first Encore. Setlist wise, I prefer the 1st Leg and the last leg. And if they are going to play some old stuff that they haven't played in year's, why not bring some other stuff out of the archives to mix it up? How about 11OCTT or Twilight. Maybe even Stories For Boys? |
