Performance:
U2 in top form. Lovely mixed up setlist with the band enjoying every bit and every song. Adding UTEOTW, Elevation and Bad was a big hit.
Audience:
Much better than on the first night, they were enjoting it, ready to rock.
Sound:
Proper 4-star, could use some work though.
Overall:
Best of the tour so far, with lovely snippets, great performed songs and a night to never forget (I was there). |

Performance:
Decent, solid..near great. LIstened to the entire bootleg once and to several songs twice.
Audience:
Great sing a longs and loads of enthusiasm.
Sound:
One of the best audience bootlegs around, seriously.
Overall:
An early gig from the U2360-Tour with some good performances and a great atmosphere. Get it, it's worth it. |

Performance:
Gloria
A good opener. This early War gig showed that U2 had not really made up their mind about the definite setlist. Gloria opened the show during October and they started War with Gloria too before changing to Out of Control for most of the shows.
I Threw A Brick Through A Window
Don't like the song that much, so I'm not that hyped about this version. It's solid but not overly impressed due to musical preferences.
A Day Without Me
Short but oh so powerful. Lovely song with the Edge on fire. Bono's voice was perfect too during this gig. Flawless, energetic and young.
Seconds
Not as good as later War-gigs but good nonetheless.
New Year's Day
One of the first live performances, NYD already kicked ass. Raw, not as polished as it is now..I like it.
Sunday Bloody Sunday
NYD's theory fits this one too. Fast paced, solid, raw..good enough for me. U2 was still discovering this song back then.
The Electric Co. / Break On Through (snippet) / Send In The Clowns (snippet)
Good enough with good typical Edge guitar work.
I Fall Down
Good performance, not a standout though.
October
What to say of October? Bono and piano..hard to fault.
Tomorrow
The highlight for me of this gig. A great, great performance of this lovely song. Tomorrow wasn't played that much, making it a rarity nowadays. I love the audience singing along with Bono and the overall mood. Excellent.
Twilight
Good, well performed as it should be.
Out Of Control
Cuts in, probably a taper issue. Nice performance, good tempo. The way like it!
11 O'Clock Tick Tock
The best 11 O'Clock was performed in Hattem, a few months before this gig with the lovely 'Give peace a change' snippet. This one is great and very good too and Bono is humming 'Give peace a change' too. Lovely with Edge on fire.
I Will Follow
Rocking out
encore(s):
Party Girl
For the special occasions..not my favourite song but always a nice tune.
Surrender
A good one, which surprised me. Surrender is not the most simple song to perform live, I think, but U2 did it this early on the tour. Thumbs up.
A Celebration
Decent..not a song that makes you want to download the gig.
40
Simple. Short. Brilliant.
Audience:
I love Scottish audiences. They were singing along like madmen, cheering it out. Thumbs up again!
Sound:
A flawless 4-star with no real distortions or whatsoever. All bandmembers are perfectly audible and you can hear the crowd going nuts.
Overall:
A lovely gig. Not the best ever..not as good as Red Rocks or Werchter, but for an early War-gig, it surprised me. It stays on my Zen for sure, also because of Tomorrow.

Performance:
A brilliant U2-show from one of their best tours, in my opinion. Bono's voice was very good during this tour and this lovely gig proves that.
Starting with 11 O'Clock, each TUF-gig couldn't go wrong (I'm sure some did..lol) but you get my message.
Other highlights were Seconds (just love that track), The Unforgettable Fire (sounding young, fresh and raw during TUF), The Electric Co with some amazing snippets, Bad (some of the best versions of Bad were played at this tour), Knocking on Heavens Door and the always brilliant 40.
Audience:
Good audience, enthusiastic Italians going for it.
Sound:
Sound is good, a true 4-star gig. All instruments are there and audible.
Overall:
Not classic, but very good for sure. Download it if you don't have it yet. |

It doesn't get any better...AWESOME! Full of energy, commitment, pace, joy, rock...love..this is Lovetown at its best. Oh, both my hands to travel back in time and be there...just there. Listen to Desire, All Along The Watchtower, even Pride...pure rock, pure music. U2 at tis best!
Audience:
Crowd went nuts all the time..at the end of the year, at the Point watching their favourite band.
Sound:
Worthy 5-star, crystal clear, nothing wrong here.

Performance:
A good setlist, for sure. Basic Zooropa, but there were some nice snippets like Irish Heartbeat, which I enjoyed. A fairly good performance was the result, but the big deal with Zoo TV for me is that I prefer the pre-Zooropa gigs. They were more into it a year before. I enjoyed this show, but...the sound..
Audience:
I couldn't always hear them screaming and singing along, but that's also a recording malfunction rather than a lack of enthusiasm, I think. And I missed our Dan. If he would have been there, the audience would have got 5-stars lol.
Sound:
Not good...distortions and muffled.
Overall:
Decent show, poor sound. And since we rate the bootleg and not only the show, I give it 3.5 stars. Blame the sound-department here. |

Performance:
'The last of the rockstars' Bono sings in Kite. Well, for me, U2's old rock spirit died this very night. The following Zoo TV tour was awesome, but Lovetown wasn't a show, it was pure rock'n roll. At its best..
Listen to All I Want Is You, All Along the Watchtower, Desire, Bad etc. Desire is the ebst version ever, same goes for Bad. This is U2 at the end of an awesome decade and at the very start of a refreshing new one. Listen to Bono's voice, a mix of TUF and Zoo TV. My left hand for a ticket to history, just to be there.
Audience:
The Dutch crowd loved it, U@ coming back to Holland after some gigs were postponed. U2 ended the eighties abroad and couldn't do it at a better place, besides Ireland itself.
Sound:
Not the best, but good enough to have regular hair raising moments.
Overall:
One of the best, for sure. Listen to the magnification of Bad, the almost metal-like version of Desire, the sweetness of All I Want Is You, the rock of 40...this is Lovetown, this is rock, this is U2... |

Performance:
I would give it 10 stars if they were there. Without any doubt: this is one of the best U2-gigs ever, maybe even the best. The band, playing on Boxing Day at the end of a special year, gave it all. Stunning performances of One Tree Hill, All I Want Is You, Streets, Angel of Harlem (with Elvis resurrected), 40, Gloria...I don't know where to end. Bono's voice is awesome, the band on top-form. Just brilliant.
Audience:
Playing in the smaller venues made Lovetown so special. Plus the addition of BB King's Orchestra, and the party started before it even began. The Irish crowd loved it, everyone loved it.
Sound:
You won't find much better.
Overall:
Awesome overall. Lovetown was a special tour, just about pure rock and joy. And they enjoyed it troughout. We still do know. U2 at its best. |

Performance:
Well, people said it was better than Rosemont, Paris or Tempe. I say it's equal. It beats Paris for sure, but for me, it's in the same list as Rosemont, Tempe and Edinburgh. (from a few weeks later).
Putting this gig in the list of famous JT-shows has its reasons of course. Streets was a good opener. I like the intro, although I've heard better or more powerful ones. Anyway, the spirit was there right from the start. A shame though that Bono slightly messed up the lyrics at the start of ISHFWILF.
The Unforgettable Fire was good, solid. But, and there comes TUF and Lovetown, I have a crush for certain versions from 1984/85/89/90. The last one, from Rotterdam 1990-06-01 is the most emotional and therefore the best for me. Must say this one is the best one I've heard from the entire Joshua-collection.
Other standouts:
In God's Country, I never really adore this one live, because it always feels like they don't enjoy it on stage. But this version kicks ass, good up-tempo, nice drumming and rather flawless.
Electric Co. is the best from the Joshua Tree Tour. Not the best ever for me. (Red Rocks comes in mind and some others)
Bad, emotional because of the Carol-remembrance. Good length too.
WOWY, very solid and flawless. But again, I prefer Lovetown once again.
Audience:
Belgians, just like Irish, Scots, Britians, Dutch, Germans, Italians, Spanish...they're Europeans and somehow more in a party-mood. Awesome audience, good to hear them too.
Sound:
There were some problems when it was recorded. There is some distortion or interruption at certain times. A worthy 4-star audience although I must say Edinburgh sounds better.
Overall:
I love shows bursting with energy. Therefore I love War, TUF and Lovetown. This show isn't a real JT-show, it has more energy and more joy. Not the best gig ever, but it gets in my alltime top 10. |

Performance:
A bit flat and standard PopMart show. No special feelings about it all. I loved the setlist though. ISHFWILF and Stand By Me took me back to Zoo TV, Suspicious Minds more or less brought me back to Lovetown. Hold Me..as a closer is just brilliant. But, this show should have blown the roof off, but it didn't. There was no cohesion to me.
Audience:
Generally enthusiastic, they saw a big show, I heard some slightly distorted tracks.
Sound:
Deserved 4-star, not too fresh anymore though.
Overall:
A proper show, could have been much better, I think. |

Performance:
Great...it's The Unforgettable Fire, it's Scotland...it's U2...what else do you want? Some very good performances changed with some standard ones. I prefer the other night in Glasgow, but this one comes close. Gloria is the standout, the typical UF-songs like TUF, Bad and ASOH are good too. Seconds en Two Hearts are there to complete the party.
Audience:
Scottisch people are good to party with, and they let you know that.
Sound:
Good and solid. Sometimes too much of audience noise and Larry is sometimes slightly distant, but very solid overall.
Overall:
A good one, if you're keen on UF-shows, download it immediately! |

Performance:
Where the Streets Have No Name
- Great opener, although I prefer this song to be played somewhere half-way the setlist. But it's the best opener ever, for me. This performance is great, not even really special but very strong.
Rate: 8/10
I Will Follow
- Awesome performance, played in a small tempo, it seems. Larry is drumming as hell with Edge also on fire. Bono's comment halfway the song about the roof is great. 'Because we might blow it of' They more or less did!
Rate: 9/10
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
- Great as always. Very well sung by Bono, especially at the end. No Exodus this time, but even more beautiful.
Rate: 9/10
MLK
- Shivers at the start when the crowd sings along with Bono. His voice is very strong and powerful when he sings this song about Martin Luther King. Nice version, one of the purest I heard.
Rate: 8.5/10
The Unforgettable Fire
- What can I say? The last performance of this great, great, great song until this very day is also one of the best. Bono hits the high notes quite well and his chanting halfway the song when Edge gets on fire is just awesome. Just dreaming to hear this song being played live with me in the audience.
Rate: 10/10
God Part II
- Not one of my favourites but a very good song nevertheless. Good performance with an edgy performance of The Edge.
Rate: 8/10
Desire
- The transition between God Part II and Desire is lovely. It shows U2's energy on this gig. Great performance once again, but not the best I've heard.
Rate: 8.5/10
All Along the Watchtower
- Not a good start, with Edge and Larry messing up a bit. They recover well though. The snippet 'Like a Hurricane' is perfect.
Rate: 8/10
All I Want Is You
- For me, the best All I Want Is You was played on the 26th of December, 1989. This version though, is a good competitor. Very strong and oh so beautiful. The crowd is going nuts, especially when Edge repeats that lovely guitar work.
Rate: 9/10
Van Diemen's Land
- Nice song, great melody, but not a special one for me. Decent performance.
Rate: 8/10
Bullet the Blue Sky
- Great as always. I adore the Bullet the Blue Sky versions from the Joshua Tour and Lovetown, with the solo at the end. It's just awesome.
Rate: 8.5/10
Running to Stand Still
- I can't really compare Running to Stand Still with the Zoo TV performances, because these were very special in a different way. But I can say this one is the best I've heard from all Joshua and Lovetown gigs. The one played on the 31th of December 1989 also rocks, but this one has that lovely snippet at the end, with the crowd singing 'Still Running'. Shivers.
Rate: 9.5/10
She's A Mystery To Me
- I don't have any special feelings with this song, but the performance, considering they played it for the second time, was very good.
Rate: 8.5/10
Angel of Harlem
- I expected more of this one. It can't reach the level of Angel of Harlem from the 12-26 Point Depot show. It's not bad at all, but it could have been so much better.
Rate: 7.5/10
When Love Comes To Town
- Gorgeous, I'd say. BB King on fire (as always) and awesome crowd singing. Also full of energy.
Rate: 8/10
Love Rescue Me
- Lovely!! This song is so great when played live. The studio version quite sucks compared to this. Not the best I've heard, but very good nevertheless.
Rate: 8.5/10
With or Without You
- Unfortunately not that long and not that brilliant. There were no snippets used, but still it rocks. But I expected more of it, having the 12-26 Point Depot performance in mind.
Rate: 8/10
Pride (In the Name of Love)
- Classic song. More or less a surprise to be played on the last encore. Nice version, full of energy with a good exchange between Bono and the audience.
Rate: 8.5/10
40
- One of U2's best songs for me. This is the ultimate closer. This version is great, but not the best. It can't top Dortmund 1984, Paris/Madrid 1987 or Point Depot, but it still is awesome. Unfortunately Edge and Larry mess it up again in the beginning. Luckily they recover well.
Rate: 8.5/10
Audience:
Before I kick-off with the setlist, I want to say that the audience was awesome. You can compare it with the enthusiastic Irish at Point Depot. They sing along with every song, pushing U2 to their best level. Because of this, U2 was in a very great mood this evening. They more or less felt they had an obligation to the fans, I think.
Sound:
Rated here as 4-star audience, and it deserves it. Although some songs should deserve a 4.5 or even 5 star rating. You can hear Bono very well, but Larry's drumming is sometimes distant.
Overall:
Sometimes I wonder why I was born in December 1988, one year before this lovely concert in Rotterdam. I was probably in my cradle as a 1-year old boy when Edge hit the first tabs of Where the Streets Have No Name in Ahoy Rotterdam on that special 6th of January 1990, 90 kilometres from my hometown.
I often ask myself the question: what would it have been like to be part of the audience during a Lovetown-show. I fell in love with the Point Depot gigs in Ireland, and the Rotterdam-shows from early January were even better, some say. Lovetown:the name itself explains it, like BB King spells during When Love Comes To Town: L-O-V-E. Yes, I love rock, I love U2, but I especially love Lovetown. Don't get me wrong, because I know the Joshua Tour was enormous and awesome. And Zoo TV was one big happening, followed by Popmart, whether you like it or not. Also Elevation gives me special feelings and was my favourite tour for a long time. But Lovetown is top-notch. The mix of songs between the Joshua Tree and Rattle and Hum, performed in small places with BB King's Orchestra makes Lovetown the best tour for me. I didn't take long and U2 didn't even cross the world with it. But the modesty of it does it for me. Like Bono says at a Point Depot show: 'After all these big places, we wanted to play a small place'Â.
Lovetown also marked the end of a decade in which U2 finally showed itself to the world in full glory. Live Aid in 1985 was a very important turning point, sealed by the release of The Joshua Tree. But U2 felt that every end had a start. U2 was looking for a new direction and needed time.
The energy and commitment of U2 was awesome back then. Bono was at his prime. His voice was a mix between the Joshua Tour and the upcoming Zoo TV. And U2 really enjoyed what they were doing. Lovetown was not a show, it was no entertainment like Zoo TV or Popmart. It wasn't a show with political context, like Vertigo. It was based on music, pure music, pure rock and roll. And you can feel the excitement and joy of U2 trough these shows. I guess they enjoyed every bit, like the audience.
U2's first European success was actually founded in Holland, where the single I Will Follow became a giant hit. Bono mentions this during this Rotterdam show when they start Love Rescue Me, when he says: 'And this is also a good place to end, because we more or less started here ten years ago. You've been very good for us, thank you!'Â. The crowd was ecstatic.
This show is awesome. It has reached a nice spot in my top ten favourites, I think. It's equal to the Point Depot shows, with U2 really on fire. I missed New Year's Day and Bad, but I know U2 played 4 shows at Rotterdam. The Bad from the 10th of January is one of the best there is.
This show is quite memorable as The Unforgettable Fire was played for the last time. I listened to this show trough my Sennheiser CX300 and my eyes shut. I transferred myself to Ahoy, Rotterdam, 18 years ago, being in the audience. I felt the energy, I experienced U2 in their best days |

Awesome. Actually a fairly early Joshua-show, but the band nails it. Great performances of Bad, WOWY and especially Mothers of the Disappeared. Brilliant!
Audience:
Good enough, can be better though.
Sound:

In the mood, although some performances are just plain Vertigo-stuff. The highlight for me is Bad, with an amazing full snippet of The First Time. The performance of Beautiful Day is also very good, with a great end.
Audience:
American audience, I prefer European or South American audiences though.
Sound:
4-stars, clear but slightly distorted sometimes.
Overall:
One of the better Vertigo-gigs. |

Performance:
Top notch, although Bono's voice is gone. But the lovely audience carries him trough the songs, which gives this show an awesome feel and setting.
Also the fact that U2 played in Sarajevo, a country ruined by war, made it even more special.
Audience:
The audience enjoyed every little second of this show and they let it know. Great sing-a-longs during the entire gig.
Sound:
The last remaster by 'noiseless' did it's job well. The sound already was great, the remaster did the final bit.
Overall:
The best Popmart-gig, and one of the best U2-gigs ever. Download it immediately. |

Very good, in my humble opinion. I discovered this show a few months ago and immediately fell in love with it. Bono's voice is just brilliant, and the band has an awesome performance of Bad. Not a typical Bad as we know it, but very solid.
Audience:
Just good, not the best. But Scottisch people are always good to party with.
Sound:
I remastered this one myself, but the difference isn't that big. A good, solid 4 star audience recording.
Overall:
A very nice TUF-show, download it if you don't own it yet. |

Performance:
Pure brilliance. Just pure U2 without any show elements. Just U2, just 4 men with a mic, guitar, bass guitar and drums. And they enjoyed it, as did the audience. A special show for Bono, because his father died a week before and he buried him the day before. A chilling performance of Kite is the result, dedicated to his father. Also Streets is considered to be one of the best out there.
Audience:
Irish watching an Irish band...so what else do you want?
Sound:
Poor...buy the DVD, rip the audio.
Overall:
Brilliant performance, brilliant audience, poor sound. The gig is worth 5-stars, but I'm rating the overall bootleg here, not the gig itself. So I say 4 stars, because of the sound. |

Performance:
Just brilliant. U2 really was on fire here, while the gig itself almost was cancelled because of bad weather forecasts. U2 however decided to play and they rocked the place. The fans loved it, the band loved it...who didn't? Awesome performances from 11 O'Clock Tick Tock (Bono: 'Will you dance with me? Will you dance with me?'), Seconds, Electric Co. etc. Pure brilliance. The DVD of this show will be released later this year, around September/October 2008.
Audience:
Just great and in the mood.
Sound:
Can't be much better considering it's a bootleg.
Overall:
Top notch, a certain must have. |

Performance:
A very good show from the lovely War-tour. This gig probably has the best version of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock with an awesome snippet. The band is on fire, the audience is, so you'll be too.
Audience:
Great, sublime. Nothing more to add.
Sound:
Definately worth it's 5 stars. It's good...very good.
Overall:
Everything was breathtaking, if you don't own this show...get it immediately! Minor point for me was the short version of 40, but back then, they didn't yet knew how to play it well. |

Performance:
This show didn't grab me. I listened to for 2 times now and there aren't any special performances. All good and solid though, but Zooropa never did something to me. I prefer Zoo TV from 92, like Stockholm. Zooropa was a bit too much for me. Anyway, there are some songs that I want to highlight though:
- Bad, like the snippets, very solid.
- Ultraviolet, always good to hear this one, but can't be compared to Washington's one. Or Dublin.
- Tryin' to Throw Your Arms, relaxing, good, solid...standard one actually but it was a favourite for me when I listened to this show.
- My Girl, just nice.
- Stand By Me, always gives me chills, even if it is played crap. This one wasn't luckily.
Audience:
This part of the bootleg isn't reviewed, only rated.
Sound:
Nothing special, nothing bad either. A bit muffy, you can hear there's been some editing done to it but everything is clearly audible. Worthy 4-star.
Overall:
A good pick, something new after two Vertigo ones and Steve did a proper job on this remaster, although I never heard the original. |

Performance:
Rather good. Can't cope with the last leg shows of course, but there were some good performances. With Or Without You in a Vertigo-coat has get hold of me since a few months, this one is quite good too. (I won't compare with Lovetown or Joshua..).
I love the fairly early place of All Because Of You in the setlist. Right after Vertigo, nice one. BD with Blackbird was nice too, Vertigo's version of BD has grown on me too. Less powerful than Elevation but very good nonetheless.
The Fly was a good one too. Actually basic Vertigo-stuff but I liked it. Yahweh was good as always, the last Vertigo encore should have been skipped. Play 40 instead...
And WGRYWH...I haven't heard that many electric versions of this song from the Vertigo Tour, this one was great. I admit that the extended solo from Edgy is way too cool.
Audience:
This part of the bootleg isn't reviewed, only rated.
Sound:
One word..: HISSSSSSSSSssssssss...and a lot of distortion. This gig easily could have been a 4-star if the hiss plus the distortion were gone. I'd like to know how the lossless will sound. Much better for sure. This one is a worthy 3-star though.
Overall:
Good pick, I enjoyed a lot more than the Brisbane gig. Minor point was the sound, but I can live with it |

Performance:
I love the last leg of the Vertigo Tour, but this one wasn't that great, methinks. As Gerard pointed out earlier, it was their first gig in months, so we shouldn't be that harsh towards them. His voice was quite good, but it became better on the later shows. The rest was just on basic fire. Standouts for me were:
- Walk On, very different feel to it and some here didn't like it, but I was surprised with it.
- Bullet the Blue Sky: Love these performances with The Hands That Built America..just great.
- Zoo Station: Always good to hear.
- With Or Without You: Nice snippet, good feel to it. Just a good one.
- Kite: Not that good compared to other ones during Vertigo, but this version kicks ass nevertheless.
On a further note: skip Pride...
Audience:
Good, enthusiastic. Some good singalongs.
Sound:
Not that good. It deserves a 3-star, but a 2.5 would fit too. But Bono is audible, but very muffy. The other instruments sound okay to me, but it sounds like it's recorded at another room.
Overall:

Performance:
Good, but not that good compared to PD and Rotterdam. I especially enjoyed Bad and TUF, and also ISHFWILF with the Bob Marley passage of Exodus. The setlist during Lovetown was great, this show proofs that once again. People Get Ready is also a very nice song. The band was in a good shape, but when the end of Lovetown came they were more into it, it seems.
Audience:
This part of the bootleg isn't reviewed, only rated.
Sound:
Not good...It's soundboard and Lovetown is so much better with audience. And further on, this gig really has been re-encoded to much. It's sounds way too distorted and fuzzy. Not a pleasure to listen to at all. And that's a shame because I felt the band was in good shape. No way enar the Point Depot shows and the Rotterdam gigs. PD is 5-star, Rotterdam 4-star, so this is definately a 3-star.
Overall:
Good, not the best. |

What can I add...?? I listened to this show several times as it is on my Zen. Angel of Harlem/Dancing Queen really is awesome, especially with the ABBA-guys playing with them. Bono's voice throughout the show is very good, the setlist rocks too. I love this performance of Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World and Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. Overall, I much more adore the setlists of the 1992 legs..like this one.
Audience:
I always lvoe European audiences and these Scandinavians really rock
Sound:
Great recording, worthy it's 5-stars!
Overall:
I consider this one as an essential bootleg, like Point Depot, Rotterdam Lovetown and some others. Download it immediately if you don't have it already! |

Performance:
1. Beautiful Day
Summary: A great performance of this song with a special opening. Usually Elevation is the song to kick-off the show, but I’d prefer Beautiful Day. Bono’s voice is quite good here and the performance is good, but nothing really special.
Rate: 8/10
2. Until The End Of The World / Two Tribes (snippet)
Summary: Powerful version. Full of energy, the way I like this song to be played. Also a strong performance, with a nice snippet (Two Tribes) at the end.
Rate: 8/10
3. New Year's Day
Summary: Also a good performance with Bono struggling a bit with his voice, I think. Also powerful, a typical ‘Elevation’ version of NYD. But like BD, not a special one. I miss the Lovetown-versions.
Rate: 7.5/10
4. When Will I See You Again (snippet) / Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of
Summary: A good snippet before the start playing Stuck. Nicely sung by Bono and it fits with Stuck. Stuck In A Moment is well performed here. It doesn’t really differ from other Elevation-tour performances. I love the lyrics…
Rate: 8/10
5. What's Going On
Summary: I haven’t heard this song so often, but I surely love it. Great performance from the lads. Good drumming and well sung by Bono.
Rate: 8.5/10
6. New York
Summary: I don’t really like the studio version but it rocks live. Very good performance with Edge on fire. Bono messes with the lyrics, it seems.
Rate: 9/10
7. Pride (In The Name Of Love)
Summary: Played slowly, like all Pride’s since Zoo TV. A decent performance, this one. Nothing special. Bono struggles a bit with his voice. He still can’t reach it…Quite a difference with his voice during Vertigo 5th leg. I still prefer the Zoo TV ones.
Rate: 6.5/10
8. Sunday Bloody Sunday
Summary: Strong performance, but I miss the snippet in the middle of the song. A ‘Johnny Comes Marching Home’ would have been great, like on the Boston DVD. Nevertheless, a great song with some nice drumming from Larry. I like the ‘State of Heart’ lyrics from Bono at the end.
Rate: 8/10
9. Kite
Summary: One of my favourite songs. I still see Slane’s one as the best, but Kite is a song U2 can’t play crap. I love the lyrics, the melody, the idea behind the song…It’s Kite and I love it! You can compare this one with Kite from Boston. Powerful and well performed.
Rate: 8/10
10. Angel Of Harlem
Summary: Angel of Indiana…again a good performance. I love the way it was played during Elevation. Nice crowd singing at the end.
Rate: 8/10
11. Staring At The Sun
Summary: A pearl from Pop. I adore the PopMart versions, the Elevation ones were a bit softer, at least in my opinion. But it’s a lovely song with Edge on the acoustic guitar. This one is also one of them. Well sung, well performed, but it could be better.
Rate: 7.5/10
12. Bad / Molly Malone (snippet)
Summary: A special one, this. It’s Bad, so I can’t be crap. Bono sings quite good here, Larry drums well with a good amount of energy. And I adore the Molly Malone snippet. It would have been nice to continue the song afterwards, like they usually do, but still…it’s great.
Rate: 8.5/10
13. Where The Streets Have No Name
Summary: Lovely as always. Bono uses the Psalm 116 snippet, which was quite common during Elevation. Just a strong performance, but not as good as Boston or Slane.
Rate: 8/10
14. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Summary: Love this one. Bono starts out of melody it seems, but it could be done on purpose. This song wasn’t performed that often during Elevation, so it’s also a special one. ‘Oh no…we’re in a church’
Rate: 8.5/10
15. With Or Without You
Summary: Decent…Bono’s voice could be better, but it’s good nevertheless. I like the JT ones more, of course. Also a good Shine Like Stars snippet.
Rate: 7.5/10
encore(s):
16. Elevation / Creep (snippet)
Summary: Awesome..Elevation as encore. Just brilliant. I think the crowd went mad when the first notes where played.
Rate: 8.5/10
17. Mysterious Ways / Sexual Healing (snippet)
Summary: A very strong performance. Not that energetic as during Zoo TV, but just very good. Love Edge’s well known solo at the end, gives me goose bumps all the time.
Rate: 8.5/10
18. One / Peace On Earth (snippet)
Summary: Good speech(maybe a bit too long) and a lovely performance. Good vocals.
The snippet is also great, fits very well.
Rate: 8/10
19. Walk On
Summary: Good performance, very spiritual, as usual after the 9/11 attacks. Also special with the Police and Fire Departements on stage.
Rate: 8/10
Audience:

Sound:
Just brilliant. Together with RDS Arena, Zoo TV, this is the best sounding bootleg, methinks..
Overall:
A great performance, not the best, but just great. Bono's voice is quite good sometimes, but also powerless during some songs(could be the recording too). I like the setlist and there aren't any weak songs played |

Performance:
Good/decent. There are some good songs played throughout the show, especially Electric Co. and All Along the Watchtower, even with Bono singing awful. Also An Cat Dubh and Into the Heart are good. Stories for Boys is also special with a good amount of energy.
I can't judge Adam, because of the awful sound quality. Edge is playing decent with some peeks, Larry drums great as always and Bono is indeed shouty and not really in to the show...except with I Will Follow.
11 O’Clock Tick Tock – Reasonable, I’ve heard better ones. Bono’s voice seems good and Larry drums very well, but I think The Edge isn’t really on fire on this one.
(6/10)
Touch - Good. Although I haven’t heard this song very often, I think it’s played in a good way.
(7,5/10)
An Cat Dubh – A lot of resonance in the audio, but a good performance. It’s really played as it should be played. The Edge is playing well, Larry is drumming good….no further comments at all.
(8/10)
Into the Heart – Also a good performance. Bono sings it quite good and it’s a typical Into the Heart, actually.
(7,5/10)
Another Time, Another Place – Good, but I can’t hear the performance in a good way because of the poor recording. Anyway, trough my Sennheisers, I can hear Bono singing well and the drumming of Larry is also good.
(7/10)
The Cry/Electric Co. – This recording really is poor…From what I can hear it’s a very good performance again. Quick drumming, Bono doing his best to sing well and Edge playing also well. It’s being played in a fast tempo, like it should be played, I think. You can really hear it’s a early version of this beautiful song. Also a great snippet before Edge comes in halfway the song.
(8.5/10)
Things to Make and Do – Nice ‘ending’ to Electric Co. Good drumming from Larry.
(8/10)
Stories for Boys – A great one, I think. Bono sings good again. The sound is really poor on this one, by the way.
(8.5/10)
Twilight – Decent performance. Not really a special one.
(7/10)
I Will Follow – Good performance. Bono sings very good too. A typical I Will Follow.
(8/10)
Out of Control – Decent, I’ve heard it played much better. Bono doesn’t look really focused on the song. The Edge is on fire though….
(6.5/10)
All Along the Watchtower – Funny actually…a very early performance of this song, I think their very first. Bono sings it awful, it’s almost painful to hear. The performance of Adam, Larry and Edge is quite good for a first time.
(5/10)
11 O’Clock Tick Tock – Slightly better than the first one. There’s more energy in this one, I think.
(7/10)

Great! Rosemont is great, Tempe is awesome, Paris is lovely, Edinburgh is fantastic (not to forget Denver)....this one is too. Some great performances of several songs like TUF, SBS and 40. Also BTBS and ISHFWILF were great, in my opinion. The debut of Spanish Eyes fits perfect with this first Spanish show.
Audience:

Decent. 3-star is a good rating for this show.

Not that good. I love Elevation, but this one wasn't really IT. The band wasn't in the mood and it more or less felt like an obligation. Anyway..there were some standouts and for me these were Kite (always love it), The Fly, Out of Control (at the end, just a surprising place), In A Little While and Desire with the snippets. Bono's voice wasn't there either, as mentioned by those before me.

Performance:
Quite good, not the best Zoo TV show but I love these 92-shows. I just love the setlist more. Highlights for me were Trying To Throw Your Arms Around The World, Until The End Of The World (Not that special, but it just a complete and strong performance), With or Without You (It's not the best and that solo was used at almost all of the 92-shows, but this one has a certain feeling, a certain sense...it's great), Ultraviolet (very good) and Love is Blindness with a powerfull Edge solo at the end. The acoustic set isn't that bad. I love it, but I do prefer a normal ISHFWILF instead of this acoustic one. Angel of Harlem is nice as always. I prefer the powerful Elevation ones, but this is quite good too. Something different. The mess-ups aren't bad either..it let's us see that U2 is human too.
Audience:
Default mark as the crowd is not heard because of the soundboard nature of the recording.
Sound:
Brilliant. The first one was already quite good but with this upgrade, the sound is phenomenal. The bass is perfect, Larry's drums are great, Bono's voice topnotch and Edge is prominent too. All four in perfect harmony to each other. It is a soundboard so there's hardly any audience. I don't care. I love audience recordings, I even prefer them, but soundboards like this are top-drawers too. The show sometimes can sound a bit distorted, but this is a taping problem I think.
Overall:
A good setlist, a good performance...it's a special one, for me in the same list as Sydney, Dublin, Milan..although it can't match the latter for performance quality. |
