I got to know U2 when my best friend (at the time) bought Best of 1980s in the late 90s, and then fell in love with them while watching (over and over) the ZooTV Live in Sydney VHS that his dad had - and our mythology that we built up around it.
I appreciate and love the 80's U2, but my heart belongs to the 90's - the foreward thinking, the experimentation, the sardonic and personal take on media, life, culture, relationships. Post 2000 U2 has been up and down for me, and while I feel the band is past its prime, it still resonates with me more than anything else.
