1. Every month we put an U2 fan in the spotlights, the fan of the month February of 2013 is user lucas_ramos1000. Read along for the interview we had this this U2 fan.

Tell us something about yourself, who are you and what do you do for a living?
First of all, sorry if I make a mistake in English, I don't practice too much. My name is Lucas Ramos, I'm 20 years old, I'm brazilian and I live in Santa Maria, state of Rio Grande do Sul, south of Brazil. I don't know if you read or heard something about a tragedy in a nightclub, which 236 people died. Well, it was here, where I live. Actually, I'm a student of Physical Education and I'm ending, after 4 years.

How did you become a fan of U2, tell us how it happened?
My dad and my uncles already liked to hear U2, but my dad, don’t speak English. He likes to hear Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and U2. Someday, my dad bought a DVD called U2 Elevation 2001 Live from Boston. That time, in 2004, I was learning how to speak English, because is necessary for the career. In the same year, a sunday's program (the same that U2 played in 2000,http://www.u2start.com/shows/1176/) showed a new videoclip of an Irish band called U2, which was launching a new CD. And the music was Vertigo. I fell I love at the same time I saw the videoclip. I don’t know why, maybe the effects. I only know that I liked. Then, since I have the Elevation 2001, I listened the music almost every day, mainly Elevation, Beautiful Day, I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday and With Or Without You even without knowing them. In the beginning of 2006, my dad bought the DVD Vertigo 2005 and a month before U2 came to Brazil with Vertigo Tour. But I didn’t go because it was in São Paulo, which is too far from my city and the tickets were very expensive too, even more for a band I was starting to like. So, the way, that time, was watch the dvd’s and find the discography and find other songs. In 2011, I finally went to see them in São Paulo, on April 13, and it was an unforgettable day. What would you like to ask U2 if you got the chance to?
“Can I take a picture with you?” hahahah. It would be a request for them, not a question. I ask if they can donate some extra material exclusive to me. And free tickets to any show, with all expenses paid by them. Hahahah Maybe if Bono can give me some of his glasses. But it would not be anything important or relevant.

Where do you most prefer to listen to U2?
I like to listen how music is well prepared. The sound, the lyrics, the emotion, the innovation in all albums. Especially compared with the current Brazilian music.

What does your U2 collection look like? What kind of stuff do you have and how is it organised?
Almost all of my collection is on the computer. I have some original official dvd’s and cd’s and some bootlegs. As I only have U2 material, all the things are all together without date order, acquisition order or any other.

In a house fire, which one of your U2 items would you save?
I would save my computer! Hahahah. I have too many things saved on my notebook that I should not know how to start organizing everything again if I lost my notebook. Maybe my 360º T-shirt too, that makes me remember April 13.

Does anyone in your family or one of your friends like U2? If so, did they introduce you to U2, or did you "convert" them?
As I said above, my dad and my uncles already liked listen to U2. But actually, I make them, especially my parents, listen U2 all the time, showing the different performances of the same song, and things like that. I "converted" a friend too. I made he like to listen U2.

What is your favorite U2 videoclip, and why?
I like Vertigo, because this song and videoclip made me a big U2 fan. Made me an addicted for U2. It isn’t the best song or best videoclip, but I have special feelings for this videoclip and song.

How different is U2 compared to other artists that you like?
U2 is different because it still has the original formation, because nobody died, either by drugs or drink, or fought among themselves. And keep creating new songs, great records, even after more than 30 years. These are types of things that make me be a lover of the Larry’s band.

What are your hobbies and interests away from U2, musical or otherwise?
As a student of Physical Education, I like to practice (all)sports, meet my girlfriend and my friends. Play soccer with friends, watch soccer on TV (I’m supporter of Sport Club Internacional, from Porto Alegre, that was already World Champion of clubs-FIFA, agains FC Barcelona, in 2006, heheh) and videogames. And listen music all the time. On the bus, going to the class, coming home, shopping at the market, all the time!

Thank you very much for the opportunity to be the Fan Of The Month!
