I went on the first night last week and I'm definitely going again! Brilliant cinematic experience with a fantastic performance to boot. Our cinema was disappointingly empty (maybe only half full) but I'm sure everyone walked out satisfied. What a show! Vertigo got it off to a cracking start and Beautiful Day also. As always I felt "Sometimes" was the lowpoint and lost the movie's momentum but this soon picked up with "Love and Peace" easily the best song for me, visually speaking. The Fly's graphics were also eye candy. I loved how much of the movie's 3D effects were subtle - not in your face - although I thought during SBS I'd be able to shake Bono's hand. Three main compaints (two of which were the cinema's fault) 1) We got cheap-arse 3D glasses..you know of the cardboard variety? Definitely not cool 2) The volume was turned down way too low. Again...not cool 3) Where the hell was City of Blinding Lights??? If there was ever a song which lent itself to 3D effects, that was it!
Overall, simply brilliant. Hoping it will be released on DVD as 2D. I would have loved to have been at one of those South American gigs. The crowd were going nuts. Oh well this was the next best thing.

I finally saw it yesterday!! All I can say is WOW and I have to go see it again. I wasn't sure what to expect going in. Was I going to be subjected to 90 minutes of Edge flinging guitar picks at me? Nope not at all. The effects were all very tastefully used and not overdone. The was cranked too which really helped. I couldn't believe how clear the picture was.

OK, confession time. It took everything I had to keep from having a complete meltdown during "SYCMIOYO". There was something about that solitary image on the screen that just resonated in my core.

I was wondering where you'd gotten to. How's OTH compared to Adelaide?

I saw the concert one month ago, awesome performance of the band, the idea of this concept is again the evidence of the band's innovation, they create the B stage, the bigger screen that the world have ever seen, and now, again a new idea, what's next!!??
But, to refer the concert, there are lot of songs missing, elevation, blinding light, original, electrico, and I will follow, where are there?
too short!
but I planed over the foor guys of Dublin, I planed over the crowd since over more of one hour, and it was very good!
thank U2!

Editing my friend. I will say this - Imax theatre seats were not made for movies an hour and a half long. That or I just have an old butt.

If more songs were added in, there would have been a good chance it would have become overly long (people would complain), or you'd notice mistakes badly.

I may well have missed out on seeing it, apparently it's stopped being shown in Norwich...

All I could find showing in 3D around Norwich was Shine a Light. No U23D at all.

Parts of it are on YouTube but it doesn't really compare.

yeah for the general public i guess. i would love to have seen an actual concert and would have loved for unsuspecting fans to see it as well. the way that UTEOTW was done at that point in the tour would have blown away the structure of any theatre it was showing in haha

Stick it right before New Year's Day where you don't know what's coming - similar to the Zooropa Tour. Brilliant.

But the way Beautiful Day came in and literally blew your eardrums out - I was right next to the speakers as that's where I chose specifically - it sounded nothing short of brilliant with the beginning part, and how Pride blows the entire stadium open.
