Press Release: U2 headed to Whitney Houston's hometown.

after U2 ends their next stop in Kansas City. U2 will travel to Newark in Whitney Houston's hometown. the band are planned to do a special memory for her in the first half of the show. Drummer Larry Mullen says "that MLK and One Tree Hill is going to be played in Whitney Houston's memory". as you may not know Whitney Houston died on February 11. 2012 due to unknown causes. in April. U2 went on tour in MSG. and it looked like the show was going to end with Love is Blindness. but Bono decided to do one more song and to dedicate something in Whitney Houston's memory and that was to do One Tree Hill. Bono says that One Tree Hill may end up being the closers for all 3 sets. but they are debating whether to put it in the main set or the encore. U2 has invited Whitney Houston's family to be in the show and they have agreed. the 3 shows will begin on May 10th. 11th and 13th.

The band wave goodnight, apparently they decided to leave One Tree Hill out. Most of the fans leave but the hardcore fans (and Whitney's family) remain.
U2 return for an amazing third encore consisting of a Whitney Houston cover and two other songs which are bob decidated to her. This marks the third time that U2 have played a full version of "40" and then played more songs.

it looks like U2 will be having a little bit of company from their tours. and it will bring some surprises. including the all-time band from the 90's. The Counting Crows. Adam Duritz. the lead singer from the Counting Crows says it is an honor to play with U2. also including Goo Goo Dolls is planned to be next on the list including Foster The People. The Fray & Lenny Kravitz. U2 is expected to end their 3-night tribute to Whitney Houston. tonight is their last night in Newark. U2 will travel to Detroit. MI on the 19th and the 20th. the Counting Crows & The Fray will join them.
