  2. Encoding as XviD in AVI format will do for most people

Thanks for all your efforts! Let me know if you need any help
  3. Not to sound like a party popper, but where's the sense in putting together youtube vids from several shows synched to audio of another show, when we have great 1cam/multicam DVDs sourced from the original tapes for every show?
  4. where are these dvd`s?....the only avaliable i have seen are the two Amsterdam versions, french and german...all have poor audio compared to sheffield.

the reason for doing it was simply to produce an audio and visual experience..unless you watch things like `clothing changes` you cannot see the edits...the HD footage is crystal clear thats why it was used..plus it offers so many different perspectives of the concert,,,,i`ve seen nothing to match it as yet...unless you know something different!...

the sheffield audio was used as i feel its the best so far from the lives shows...and of course straight off the desk/Qradio....there was not enough footage of quality from just the Don valley show avaliable..this is why we decided to mix with other shows...quality over truth.

You probably only checked what is available here then. That's usually DVD-rips in avi format with mp3 audio. That's why the quality is rather poor.
If you're interested in either HD sourced DVDs, SD-DVDs or proper HD files, you should check torrent sites like U2torrents.com; thetradersden.org or dimeadozen.org - or enter the world of snail mail trading.

I personally dislike if a video is synched to audio from another date. But that's just my 2 cents.
  6. i can understand that...but sometimes getting `both` together can be tricky!...good audio and clear footage married together is a must for this show.

  7. Well im interested. Would make a nice little memento.
  8. I`ll upload 2 tracks on youtube 1st to see what the feedback is...if positive i`ll upload the whole thing....as i know its not everyones cup of tea in this format...but i believe it has to be viewed before this judgement...coz to me it just looks like a complete show!...

i`ll post the links here shortly.
  9. What about the snippets from Sheffield? So we see Bono singing in Milan and Berlin with Sheffield-audio? I'm with Yeah on this one. Thanks for all the effort though, others will surely appreciate it.
  10. i think you`ll find that alot of official dvd`s are made from a series of nights...very rare a band does not mess something up throughout 1 gig....the editor will take footage from the 2/3/4 etc nights and splice the best performances together..this gives the band a few chances to `get it right`...as the use of screens is part of the show via camera`s then every concert is recorded...in the final production the best is taken from the tour...hence why the band in general are asked to wear the same clothes for gigs...continuntiy reasons!...

so whilst i can understand the need to have the correct show with the correct audio, i also believe the better dvd can be produced using the freedom of ALL the footage avaliable via HD cams...the show is very tight due to the interaction with the screens, if you take the audio from sheffield and place it on a timeline next to holland audio you will notice very little variation...they sync very well!...only the vocal can change due to extra parts by bono!...the music in general stays in sync...this is why i decided to edit the HD youtube footage..the major content in from sheffield but the `eye candy visuals` are varied..this allows quick edits and faster action..and above all alot of choice...with digital timeline editing in vegas9 the job was a pleasure to do...and i`ve watched most of the multi cam mixes that are here and have to say guys...you`ll like this one....it has a good pace to it....we decided that after watching the Holland Port version (not bad!)...we would try and edit the rest of the tracks that are not on the tracklisting, and also correct the running order...although i like the one we have done...it would be good to keep it in line with the tour..

i`ll post the links to `boots` and `crazy` soon....and hopefully upload the whole thing by the weekend.

    Sounds good to me!

I think if members on here can have a choice of the original HD single cam videos AND an edited mutlicam compilation of the tour then what's the big problem? It's not as if you're selling it as an original.

You've been open and honest about what you've done so it's a thumbs up from me

But I think we all need to be grateful to all the excellent quality videos available from this tour - even from fans who have just taped shows for their own experience and then shared it online! Respect is due
