I've got the same beef with the 1981-11-14 - Boston, Massachusetts show. Sounds like a 4-star bootleg to me, not the 5 stars it's given on the download page. Thanks!
for a soundboard it is good though. Against Dublin R.D.S it may not be as good but for what it is I thinks it's a very good recording. Maybe we shoulf start rating recordings based on type rather than overall sound. If someone doesn't like soundboards thay are rarely gonna score them 5/5.
Or add a HC (High Category) for some shows. There are hardly any shows who can match the sound of RDS, South Bend and Sarajevo...
all of which are broadcasts and not soundboards though. Broadcasts are typically better than anything else but that shouldn't mean excellent soundboards or audience recordings shouldn't get credited. I think we should rate soundboards and audiences sepereately. Sure Saitama 3 isn't as good as RDS but it's still a 4.5/5 audience recording. Sames with DC 1992, it's terrible compared to RDS but it's still an awesome 5/5 soundborad.

I see what you're saying, but I disagree. When I first stumbled across this site, I started downloading all the 5 star shows. I had no clue what IEMs where, or the difference between a matrix and a soundboard. I just liked that there was an easy star-rating system and I could work my way through the best of the best. While I originally started with just the 5-stars, I quickly moved into 4 stars and even have some 3 stars on my computer now.
In my opinion, 5 stars should be reserved for the best of the best shows: RDS, Red Rocks, South Bend, the Point Depot shows, Buenos Aires Vertigo, etc. (that's a well-rounded list that includes broadcast, audience and soundboards).
And there's no shame in a 4 star show. There's some real gems in that category too. (And yes, I've warmed up to DC ZooTV since the BRT. It should definitely be a 4 or 4.5)

I agree and disagree at the same time. The ratings on the site are still far from perfect. But if we take RDS as 5 star then there are not an awful lot more 5 star recordings about. Saitama 3 has to be a 4.5 but RDS is more than half a point better. You see the confliction. I want all good recordings to get their deserved ratings and not to be marked down because a few pro recorded broadcasts are just so awesomely good .
