I would be furious if they didn't play the "classics" on a show I'd go to..........maybe if I saw them 15 times I wouldn't mind then, but I really want to hear these songs on the first show I'll (hopefully) attend
This topic has been covered quite a lot, but not to worry.

Agree re. "hear us coming", but what do you mean by not the LP? I hope they keep it, but use it a little more sparingly, like a lot of the more well-known songs. I agree with what Daley was saying - as a big fan, but one who hasn't seen the guys live yet, I'd be sad to miss out on some of the big hits should I get the chance to see them, but if they don't play them, the fact I'd have seen them would more than make up lol
No, no, no, that's not what I meant. I love the LP. I just don't like him using it on One. The guitar that he played One on during Zoo TV and PopMart (a Gretsch, isn't it?) sounded much better for that song.
I see that some people want BTBS out of the setlist....Hell no! It's probably one of their best songs ever! It has a huge political message and the solo's just awesome! I know that the Vertigo-versions weren't really good, but they change it every tour! Maybe it really rocks this tour!
And to get back OT... NYD should go...It's a great song, but it isn't that awesome, that it should be played every tour...
yeah I remember reading in U2 by U2 some part when U2 were taking photos with Anton Corbijn in the early 80's I think and he had problems with pronouncing something
That song might be overplayed, I'll give you that, but they were landmarks for U2 years ago, they can't/shouldnt be drop out U2 would not be U2 without Pride, SBS, NYD, WOWY... That are the songs that made them big (and I'm not saying these are the best song, only the most famous and known ones)...

"We spent 10 minutes writing this next song, 10 minutes recording it, 10 minutes mixing it, 10 minutes playing it back and that has nothing to do with why it's called '40'."
- Bono, 1987, introducing the song '40'
