I hope U2 drop News Year's Day and the rather ho-hum-drum With or Without You from the next tour. In particular I find these songs seemingly played like from a juke box anymore.
Bathroom break time for me.
I would't miss Pride (INoL) much either.
I was excited when they played Electric Co... however.
Perhaps they could spice these tunes up a bit if they play them again.
For the millions of fans that haven't heard them 100 times then it wouldn't matter. Personally what they've been playing I'd love to hear on next tour.
as a big fan who hasn't seen the band play before, like a large percentage of users on this site, I would disapointed if I was to miss some of the old hits such as New Year's Day, Pride or Sunday Bloody Sunday. Yes the've been played alot on past tours, but a fare amount of the crowd haven't seen them live before. U2 are still getting for fans an they may still want to hear the songs that made the band so big.
NYD? Pride? WOWY? Hell no. I love these songs, and they are fantastic on each tour, and will continue to be fantastic. Not to long ago, I would have agreed with you on Pride, but I just realized how important this song is to any live set
Pride needs to go away. It's a rare song that I like the album version of, but is not so amazing live. And it sounds incredibly stale now.
Bullet can go away if they continue to play it badly. Play it Zoo-style (or even PopMart-style), and that's another story.
And, as much as I love WOWY, I'm not sure it should stay. It hasn't really been played well since 1993. Again, if they start to play it properly again (with Shine Like Stars and preferably the Zoo TV solo), then I would love to see it stay. However, I count two performances from post-Zooropa-leg of that song that I like (Slane and the second Vertigo Saitama night). The other performances sound stale and boring.
One is like WOWY... amazing live song that was butchered on the last tour. Too bad. Hopefully it will come back with Hear Us Coming (and NOT the Les Paul) next tour, but I hate to hear it played they way they have been playing it.
I will be happy if they don't play Bullet The Blue Sky, Sunday Bloody Sunday, and they won't play Pride (In The Name Of Love) and With Or Without You (like in Elevation Tour) New Year's Day in every concert (like in Vertigo Tour). These songs are very boring now I think and they played these songs in every tour.

ahh, how could I forget about One and Bullet? One, I think was actually pretty good on the last tour. But thats just my thought. And Bullet would have been great on the last tour, if Edge had kept the solo the same. But on that Note, I think that the version from the Hawaii show is pretty good. IMO, Bullet was best on the Elevation tour.
Someone reminded me. One is incredibly stale, and that's before ZooTV and studio. I have a complete and utter disliking for it - and brings Achtung Baby down a notch. Every other song is brilliant but that song in particular - I certainly wouldn't miss it.

Bullet was okay at Honolulu (nothing was bad from that show), but not up to its previous standards.

Agree re. "hear us coming", but what do you mean by not the LP? I hope they keep it, but use it a little more sparingly, like a lot of the more well-known songs. I agree with what Daley was saying - as a big fan, but one who hasn't seen the guys live yet, I'd be sad to miss out on some of the big hits should I get the chance to see them, but if they don't play them, the fact I'd have seen them would more than make up lol

God no. Elevation tour was fine, but best BTBS formats were ZooTV/PopMart. JT and LT were good, but the only good thing about Elevation was the way in which Edge's solo really tore the place apart. Vertigo was pretty drab apart from the solos again, but I loved the fact that Edge rarely ever played the same solo twice, there was usually always something different about it. However, for me the verses need a guitar riff to counter Bono's vocals á la ZooTV/PopMart, otherwise it's just a bit stale for me. Just palm-muting the strings to a bit of Wah only has so much appeal...
