Snow Patrol have announced details of their brand new album, and have scheduled the release date for October 27/28.
'A Hundred Million Suns' is the band's fifth album, and was recorded this summer with the band’s regular collaborator Garret 'Jacknife' Lee at Hansa Studios in Berlin and Grouse Lodge in Ireland.
The album will be preceded by the single 'Take Back The City', the video to which was shot by director Alex Courtes, who’s responsible for The White Stripes' famous 'Seven Nation Army' clip in 2003.
The album is the follow up to 2006's seven-times platinum album 'Eyes Open' which sold 2.1 million copies in the UK (that year's biggest seller) and over one million in the US.
2008 is a great year for music. New albums from R.E.M., Coldplay, Oasis, U2 and now Snow Patrol.
"I'm so proud of this record. Everybody played out of their skin. said frontman Paul Hewson Gary Lightbody. "Musically, lyrically and sonically the best record we've made."

Surely a good year..Snow Patrol is in a good mood with their albums. Not much time between them.
just listened to half of it, no time for more...not a good time to say what I think...but the truth is that I'm not liking it that much...Chasing Cars sounded better...and it's no contender for Viva La Vida or even Violet Hill...my opinion tho.
Loved their last albums, I'm curious what it will be, I will surely give it a listen when it arrives.
Take Back The City:
Snow Patrol releasing a new album. GREAT!!! I've been having trouble sleeping, so it'll be a big help in that regard. Now, if we can just get some new Crowded House material... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...
