A topic that has never been opened. Discuss and share all your opinions on U2's DVD releases (and Hamish)

I want to start proceedings to ask if anyones bought Rattle and Hum in HD? I'm gonna buy it on Blu-Ray when it's out and was just looking an insight into the visual quality. . .

Nice idea. It's been touched upon enough n other topics.

Essential:
Slane
Zoo Sydney
Popmart
UABRS (I suspect....)

It looks absolutely stunning (and the audio is top quality, if you wanted to know that). The black and white bits you won't notice too much but the colour (mainly during MLK / Bullet / Streets / With or Without You) is stunning in 1080p (full HD).

Has anyone seen the Joshua Tree documentary where they go behind the scenes with Brian Eno, Flood and others (looks 1997-ish)? Fantastic watch. On the other hand, An Unforgettable Journey is pretty crap. Who are these "people close to U2"? I got a burnt copy (I'm not ashamed to say it, either) and it's absolutely pathetic. They look like hobos. And "this DVD features no original performances by U2"? It's some freaking second-rate singer, who I shouldn't even class as a singer.

It sucks.

The PS3 is great for BluRay. But I want the Xbox360, and all it has is HD-DVD (which I backed from the beginning - a pity it bombed).

It's possibly the best-looking U2 DVD out there (besides Slane) in terms of picture quality.

Nice topic, by the way.

I have the PS3 on order and a HD TV so I figured i'd give the Blu-Ray version a run for it's money. I hope they do future releases in Blu-Ray or upscale a few existing DVD's.

Funny how Rattle and Hum always comes out pretty much first on a new format. Came out early on DVD then HD DVD. Crap to though as the original DVD didn't even come with a booklet
I'll look forward to the Blu-Ray version

Rattle and Hum is great, it's released in so many formats, it's the only one released in that many I thought.

PS3 is awesome! Dvd's look so unbelievably great on the thing!
It costs a lot, but it's worth it!

Probably I'm off-topic here, but is a PS3 worth the money and has good games that are well worth playing? I want an upgrade from the old Xbox180 and a BluRay player (because we have a HDTV now), so this might be good for it.

I haven't got mine yet but it looks like a good deal. Blu-Ray, great range of games with fantastic online options etc. I know i'll be impressed. Continue in the Digital Corner if need be. . . .

It's a bit off-topic indeed, but I think it's worth buying it! Dvd's look great, games are awesome! I bit pricy and maybe the new XBox is a bit better....
