Saw Coldplay on "The Daily Show" last night. Wow!!! They sounded great!
They had their sort of pseudo-military jackets going, drum kit is painted up nicely, Jonny's Telecaster's are sporting painted up pickguards - drums and guitars echoing the album cover's painted art. And Guy Berryman (bassist) was even adding some extra percussion, playing an upturned bass drum on the intro to "Lost".
Songs played?
1) 42
2) Lost
Cool to see. Cool to see that they've apparently hired a sylist, ( to some extent) and that they are sort of running with a 'theme'.
Yeah, I saw this when I watched it this morning (I DVR my Daily Shows and Colbert Reports and watch them the next morning usually). It was cool - a pleasant surprise to see them.
I'm kinda surpirsed they didnt play Viva la Vida, then again I'm not because they must be sick of it by now. But how can you not play the #1 song in the country?

Already heard it too often. I skip it when I listen to the album.
I like it, don't get me wrong. But a song needs to grow. Viva La Vida has overgrown on me. The same happened with COBL in 2004. I loved it when I first heard it. But in 2005, it came out on single and the radio stations played it way too often. So you are forced to hear it again and again. It's like Pride being played too often at U2 concerts. A great song, but don't play it that much.

I have song and album rotations so I never really get sick of anything, and everything sounds fresh and new.
