Kinda surprises me there wasn't a topic for this... This summer their new album comes and I like to know what you expect from it!

Personally I hope they continue with the 'Don't Believe The Truth' style...

I liked Oasis when they came out. They had a lot of energy and a lot of promise. I saw them open for U2 (Oakland, 1997) and they were quite good.

The first 2 albums and associated singles that Oasis did were great. But it's been hit and miss since 1995's "What The Story...".

That said, the last album was probably the best since "What The Story...". So it would be great if the new album is great; and I hope it is.

Time will tell... when is the new Oasis record to be released? It is interesting that they still use the 'brand name' / band name Oasis when it is just Noel and Liam Gallagher remaining from the original lineup.

I believe it's around the end of August...But I agree with you: between Morning Glory and Don't Believe The Truth is not very much...

a fact I would gladly accept if it meant Liam being a goner. His personna worked for the nineties a bit but he just looks and acts like a wanker nowadays

But one can not deny that while Noel's voice is perfectly fine, Liam's voice is stronger for most of the songs, more rockin' and 'the vocal sound' of Oasis. Sure he's a cock but he's a great voice.

Just like Axl Rose is a cock but GNR without him isn't GNR. Not that GNR without Slash, Duff, etc is GNR.

Aye

And I have to disagree Jeff; I just find his voice whiny. He's almost become a caricature of himself. It was good on Definitely Maybe and bareable on WTSMG. But poor thereafter...
