1. Imagine Dragons are not actually as "new" as people tend to think. They've been around since 2008 and had a lot of material even before their first EP. I don't know why some people hate this band, to be honest. Maybe people hate bands that have their own original sound and don't pander to stereotypical genres.

It's not that at all, many of my favourite acts can't be pinned to a genre and a lot of them are barely holding onto their success.

Imagine Dragons just sound like noise to me, and not good noise. Not to mention that "sound" doesn't translate to live performances well at all.
  3. Enough with the Imagine Dragons discussions in here haha

While a lot of it could be chalked up to music press looking for a story, there was definitely some tension going on around the end of the Battle Born tour. The bassist and guitarist tire of the extensive live schedule and leave Brandon and the drummer out to do their solo projects, when both have said their rather put their efforts into the band's work. These aren't really 4 friends from their teenage years like with U2. Brandon and Dave met through local classifieds, and picked up their drummer and bassist on the local music scene so their relationship was always built on the band being first, I'm not sure how much they interact with each other outside of the music setting but I'm pretty sure I've read an interview years ago where one of them said not much.

An excerpt from another (translated so not perfect) german interview 3 years ago with the drummer:

Now added with the bassist retiring from live shows, I'm not sure the future looks very bright for this band so enjoy it while you can.

P.S. they have started working on their Christmas song for this year already, confirmed to be their last

This is too sad to read (specially Ronnie's interview which I recall reading back in 2013 or 2014) but probably spot on. I think they don't have a specially strong relationship among them and that has finally gotten in the middle of their artistic production. Too bad, too bad
  5. Damn I got that feeling too, but this sort of confirms it, eh?

I miss the Hot Fuss and Sam's Town days. I miss seeing them on Much Music (Canada's MTV) and everyone talking about them. I miss seeing the video for Read My Mind on TV all the time.

Indeed! I´ve always loved The Killers and I´d love to see them live again. And again. And again. I really appericiate Brandon Flowers solo work too - especially Flamingo. But The Killers. I accidentally ruined one of their tour-shirts. I thought; "Well no worries. I´m going to see them live again. And again". Dunno.
  7. I was able to see the Sam's Town Decennial on the second night. No mention of a new album, but I will say they really know how to treat their fans. Their VIP package gave us a limited edition LP (vinyl) of Sam's Town with real signatures from the entire band (they individually signed every one). They had Sam's Town inspired drinks (I liked the Uncle Johnny) and everything else in the hotel was themed from the blackjack tables and chips to the room keys. The movie theater was even playing favorite movies of the Killers (Pretty in Pink and Live from Royal Albert Hall). They played Killers music and videos non stop throughout the casino all weekend. They had an amazing intimate pre-party for 200 where they came out and did two songs before the show. This is a video I put together showing a bit from the pre-party and the actual show.

SO intimate Thanks for sharing. Glad (and jealous!) you were able to experience that.
  9. The Killers go way above and beyond in instances like this, so it makes me incredibly sad to even consider the possibility that this is them on their way out...

    Thank you for this!

I'm so jealous of you. I wanted to get tix for this for mine and my wife's 6th anniversary but didn't have the funds. The Killers are one of the few bands/artists we 100% agree upon. I got her into them when we first started seeing each other back in 2006 when Sam's Town came out. Saw them at the Ryman on that tour and then we saw them at Opry on Day&Age and Battle Born. Fantastic live band!

I'd love to meet Brandon someday!
