From today's Hot Press.com:

U2 soundman Joe O'Herlihy has revealed that following a stint in Dublin's Windmill Lane Studios, the band are set to do some warm weather recording overseas.

"I'm heading out to France to begin working with them on it." "They decided they needed a few rays while they were working on the new songs. But things are in full swing working towards a new album. We're hoping to have something in the can come September / October (finishing Sept/Oct and ready for sale as I've said: late Oct / early Nov).

"We'll know in the next couple of months how things shape up but that's what they're aiming for. All things being equal they will more than likely tour in 2009. They love it. It's their life and it's what they do."

From the sound of things, it's on schedule for their usual late October / early November release date.

Okay, that's good news, but I hope we won't get a second POP; they shouldn't rush it.
But I don't think that will happen: they got 2/3 years to finish this album; long enough IMO...

Will they release it on November ? Cant help with the feeling that it will be on christmas not on early november or maybe february bec the remasters are being delayed and delayed and they need time after the release of the remasters to make profit out of it so they cant release new material at least for 5 months after the release of the remasters

A little faith, a little faith. The REMASTERS will be the appetisers for the new album. If they are finished by Sept, it will be out in late Oct / early November. U2 have a sort of regular schedule. Single in Sept/Oct, album in Oct/Nov, promo shows in Nov-Jan... tour in late March to early April... start saving your pennies!
